As I lack an account on JF, (o noes!), I see the beginings of an interesting wank bubbling that involves an old fave (Jenny0) calling people who disagree with her "bullies and cowards."

Thus far all involved are shutting off comments (looking at you Glossing!) but it's a-simmerin'.

God, that's depressing. Some of the people on there seem a little... challenged, it's true. But for the most part, a lot of the girls they're saying are Ugly and Fat and what have you, seem fine to me. If it was just good clean fun mocking, that'd be one thing. But this is harsh and malicious.

had me rolling, even though I didn't think any of the costumes were that bad. The rest of it degenerates into a boring rip on overweight people. Points off for serious lack of creativity on the part of [info]cosplayfucks. If you're going to bash people, have a better reason for it and learn to do it with true humor and style.

I was ashamed at myself for cracking up over that post.

A lot of the costumes they were making fun of (the comm in general) weren't that bad. I was pretty impressed with boy!Yuna.

Which is food for thought - why are girls allowed to crossplay, but when boys do it everyone makes fun of them?

The good idea/bad idea was fricking hilarious. Also, the little boy Shippou was *adorable.*

It's fun to make fun of bad cosplayers when the costumes actually deserve it. Making fun of cosplayers just because they're fat, eh, not so much.
