The new Doctor Who series is scheduled to be shown in the UK at the end of March. However, an un-tidied-up copy of the first episode has already been leaked onto the internet. The Beeb are annoyed.

Wow. It's like 1970s-80s Who wank, but set on ultra-mega-fast-forward. In the old days (uphill, both ways, in the snow), we had to wait months for this much wank, and it cost ten bucks an issue.

Please say I'm not the only one here who downloaded the episode and thought it was shit.

Spoiler cut tags I understand, but people should not be posting any comments about what they thought of it, or displaying pictures of it, etc until after it airs and everyone has the chance to enjoy it?

Ummm... how about no? If people want to talk about, they're allowed to talk about it, even if it's on a journal you have friended. Cut tags are marvelous things.

Not that I would do such a heinous act like download it ahead of the debut date or anything, but if I had, I might think that it was a fantastic return to basics start to finish.

Might also comment that Rose is very easy on the eyes.

But again, I'd never never do anything so naughty as download the first episode.

Is it the first episode, or just a random one? I can't decide which would make me more likely to download it. I mean, it's maybe three weeks til it airs, though there is a Charles Dickens episode, though I've only heard very sketchy rumours of the first, unlike the later...

Eh, who am I kidding. I would much rather download one of the older episodes, even though if it wasn't for the new series I would never have looked at Dr Who. Though I still intend to hunt down images of the new daleks.

Doctor Who is not just another SF series. It is THE SF series. It is an event, not the return of some old show. Dr Who is a landmark series. Way before most of you guys were born it was making TV history.

Well, why didn't you say so in the first place!!

Then maybe those silly Americans wouldn't have watched it.

Or, if it's so great... why don't YOU download it and watch it. Hmmmm.

I'd love it- and I know it isn't, but I'd love it- if the "leaked episode" turned out to be a colossal hoax. Like it was something scraped together by some hacker in front of his/her computer, splicing together parts of old Doctor Who episodes, plus footage taken from Lancelot Link: Secret Chimp, Paula Abdul music videos and the pilot episode for the American version of Red Dwarf.

I realize this would be a sick, sick (and in the case of the American Red Dwarf footage, sick and twisted) joke, but I like sick, so...
