I come here to leave everything behind. My mother has Diabetes, and though she tries to deny it, she will die soon. The doctors have told me this and I know it to be certain. My grandmother just got out of heart surgery. My aunt just died of cancer. My grandfather died of Diabetes. My other aunt became blind.

I also have no arms, half an ear and only one leg (people keep selling shoes in pairs, thus filling me with despair as I stare at that lone shoe I can never wear *emo tear*). My second cousin has mange. This girl who sits behind me in class has the brain worms, and my homeroom teacher suffers from gout. A voodoo curse shrunk my uncle's head to nothing. Please, don't take away the only thing that brings joy to my pathetic, one-legged, no armed, half-eared life.

What makes me snicker is that I met Frisket17 (aka Melissa O'Brien) about six years ago (maybe seven?) on a MOO (MUD object oriented, like a MUSH or MUCK for those who don't know these things) and even back then, if you mentioned wanting to find a picture for your character, she would gladly draw a sketch for you, so you wouldn't have to steal - all you had to do was ask. Granted, as time went on and more people asked, she scaled back and started asking for reciprocation, but it was never a huge deal.
I still have some pictures she made for me, and I hate the idea of someone else snagging them.

It's amazing how polite manners and respect for others have diminished on the internet. Gee, you wouldn't go into an art museum and just take the paintings because you wanted them for your house, would you? DA, SheezyArt, it's the same thing.

	As a person who draws and has done artwork for folks, most times I'd do little drawings for free or in exchange. I find most artists, if you just ask nicely, are more than willing to oblige. There are so many folks who just. don't. get. copyright. laws. and think it's all a freeforall if it's on the internet. Not so. So very not so. (Reply to this)(Thread)

Eh, I don't know -- see, then rough part is that now, even poorly-skilled artists have begun asking for comissions. I have done, am doing, and always will do all the art issued on requests for free and with the utmost pleasure -- but I have seen your average Joe-who-can-barely-hold-a-pencil asking you to OMGWTF CHECK THE PAY ROLLS for whatever grand piece of "art" of the kind of which he's offering to do. (50$ for a pencil-only sketch? Um...)

Bottom line of this pointless rant? People might feel a mite discouraged. Still not OK to steal, tho'.
