I spend too much time at IMDB.
I know, IMDb wank, dime a dozen.

So I bring you two unrelated IMDb wanks. Don't ask me to do math on the "dime a dozen" phrase, though.

#1: Elvis Presley was a more "deeply religious patriot" than James Dean.

Thank God for decent people like Elvis in this almost Sodam and Gomorrah world we now live in.

#2: Don't see Trainspotting, for there is one scene that displays violence toward an American.

IN HOLLYWOOD MOVIES, WE DONT HAVE SCENES IN ATTACKING FOREIGN PEOPLE. IS THIS BECAUSE THE BRITS ARE JEALOUS OF US? AND WANT TO PROMOTE VIOLENCE? I THINK IT IS.

BONUS: Not strictly wank, but too funny to ignore. More fake facts about Judy Garland than you'd ever want to know.

Some other Judy facts:

She was a licensed dental hygienist, though she never practiced.

She never used the same gynecologist more than once.

Nixon was going to appoint her as Ambassador of Love a month before she died.

She was a good woman.

I don't remember that scene in Trainspotting. But maybe that's because I was trying not to lose my lunch over that toilet scene or that other scene.

There's a bit that goes "First day of the Edinburgh Festival" The boys are standing at a bar, and some tourist walks in asking the way to ? Street. They follow him out and return with some money. It'snot the most graphic scene in the world.

Toilet scene was trippy and confused me. The Other Scene... I had to leave the room and get some fresh air, lest I puked all over my friend.

Elvis starred in 31 masterpieces and proved himself as one of the greatest stars of the twentieth century, along with Olivier, Brando and Tracy.

Something inside me makes me want to call troll. Hm, now what could make me want to do that?

I was just going to post the exact same thing.

As much as I love Elvis, he was no movie actor. And if that dude isn't a troll, I fear for his sanity.

How did my art history teacher get on IMDB? He's obsessed with Elvis. On the day of our midterm, he put up a slide of Elvis and told us to gaze upon the serenity of The King to focus ourselves.

Really? You should have reminded him that Elvis's serenity was induced by narcotic prescription medicine, and then frightened him into thinking you were going to make a complaint on the basis that he was promoting drug use.

Or I could go to bed now as it is obvious I am a bit quirky from a lack of sleep.

That? That is Fucking. Brilliant.

'Course, Elvis made most people "all shook up", but if he can bring your art teacher inner peace, then, well, I salute your art teacher. Brilliant.

Judy Garland!

In fact, Judy just adored adoring things...and that is what made her so adorable. And her eating Chinese take-out with all the presidents!

It scares me how many people appear threatened by the truth of Judy.

Why does this Brian dude keep starting every sentence with "how dare you!"? I keep getting this image of a grown man dressed as Judy, shaking his fist. And that's just not right...

Though, it is amusing...

Judy adored pizza. She liked the thin crust kind with extra garlic, sausage, mushrooms, and onions. Nixon and Judy used to order in two large pies when she would come to the White House. Henry Kissinger was always jealous because it was there private time together. Pat Nixon understood, but Kissinger got jealous. Judy adored Pat Nixon.

Henry Kissinger was just jealous, y'all.

How dare you! Cucumbers contain varying amounts of potent phytochemicals such as lutein and indoles, which interests researchers because of their potential antioxidant, health-promoting benefits. The cucumber is a good vegetable.

No words. There are no words.

Aside from the general WTF I got from the Trainspotting thread (I liked the poster from Chile who wanted everyone to stop referring to the USA as 'America' as that's strictly speaking the name of the continent), yodacola wins the best comment: America is presently a divided nation, but we unite to say you're a crazy person.

Judy also made the most wonderful buffalo wings.

I don't think people ate chicken wings back then (not like we do now, anyway). The restaurant I used to work at threw them out, or donated them to the soup kitchen.

Judy always had close ties to the President, no matter who it was. FDR sent Judy to Germany in 1940 to meet with Hitler. Hitler adored Judy. She sang for him and he was close to tears. Judy was like springtime for Hitler. She actually almost convinced him to pull out of France and Poland. He actually considered it. If any one single person could have ended World War II, it was Judy.

Is it just me, or does Judy sound like a Mary Sue? *L*

Oh God...I have a migraine, and I just had to pop on and peek at F_W and check out what was new.

Never, never will I go to IMBD again and read Judy Garland Goofiness. I was laughing so hard I made my migraine worse.

Was worth it though.

::wanders off to take meds::

How dare I laugh myself sick at Judy Garland. She really loved Pringles Chips. She inspired them even. They were named after her, even if they're called Pringles. She was a good woman.
