I read and occasionally comment on fanthropology, but with the sort of questions that come across it I'm fully expecting "Now that there's a new Pope, what implications do you think this has for fandom? Have you seen any repercussions? What does this mean for the future of fandom?" to pop up, like, any second now.

I am old-and-cranky about the overall bias towards online fandom as opposed to the offline fandom it developed from, and also prone to lecture at the drop of a hat about anthropological theory research so I think most participants ignore me.

You want to know what wank is? Allow me to omgplaygerize a certain well-known wanker (not for the first time by offering a VSLJ (Very Sekrit LiveJournal) of a typical wanker. Because I believe in teaching by example:

Day 3 -- again: Can't any of you read?!? My quiz spelled out what you should do plain as the warty nose on your stuck-up face!

Day 4: OMG, I've been friended! nazi_fucker2, cuntasscock and i_like_rape have all friended me! I went to their userinfo and friended them back and noticed they had hundreds and hundreds of friends, but no-one else had friended them back!!! Guess that makes me special!!!!!!!! We'll all be friends and show those mean girls who won't friend me jealous!!11!

Day 7: Am joining a few anime and Harry Potter communities. Hope I meet nice people there.

Day 7 -- again: I hate you all! Since when does Harry have sex with Dumbledore?!?!?! How can they even do it? They're both boys! I learned in Health Class that boys have parts that stick out. So they can't do anything with each other. It's like trying to stick two bananas together. And the anime community obviously doesn't even know which ones are boys and which ones are girls.

Day 10: Since he (she?) wasn't commenting in my journal, I went over to cuntasscock's LJ and said hi and asked him whether his name was Cuntas Scock or Cun Tasscock, because both of them sounded, like, Polish or something. I noticed a lot of meanies telling him to stop being friends with them. They use a lot of no-no words. Anyway, am waiting for reply! Am so excited.

Day 11: cuntasscock is a real jerk! He replied: "[bad word] you, [bad word] [bad word] because [bad word] [bad word] I just like [bad word] [bad word] [bad word] [bad word] [bad word]. I defriended him but he won't defriend me. Those Eastern Europeans are bad people.

Day 15: Some girl on the hp_tallywhacker_suckers community was talking about how "oral sex" between Wizards and Muggles "turned her on." I don't know what she meant by that, but it sounded nasty and I said so. I wrote: "You are disgusting. Girls shouldn't say stuff like that."

That should shut her up.

Day 16: OMG! Remember the girl I told you about yesterday? She replied and said I was a very bad part of my body! I'm going to write back because everyone else in the community will have to support me against such meanness. I will write: "You are a Nazi for trying to shut me up." Cause no-one wants to be called a Nazi! [evil grin]

Day 16 -- again: Now everyone is attacking me! Why? She was the one who was writing dirty stuff about a kids book!

Day 17: I just friended the pervert and then defriended her. That'll show her! She doesn't know what she's up against...evil grin
