	While I bow to none in my supreme distaste for TWoP and its squires and minions, the comments on GFY had gotten pretty rank lately- the accusations of encouraging rape in the Posh thread were nothing compared to some of the slagging going on about a young woman from "Still Standing." 	For real. The comments were very rarely entertaining--it was like a game of "let's one-up Heather and Jessica," "OMG I am sooooo witty," or repeats of previous comments. Must say it's pretty rich that they suddenly get all arsey about 'personal' comments about Posh when you consider some of the devastatingly horrible (and kind of hysterical) things that have been said about Britney Spears on that site in the past.

Heh, yeah, even though Britney Spears is a schadenfruedish fuck up of the first degree, I've been known to wince at the awful things said about such an... inconsequential personality with such bitter rage. (Not even bemusement... think Harry style CAPSLOCK RAGE!) God bless her, she's only in her twenties, she's a billionaire, she's lived most of her life as the public's fantasy sex-toy and she's just doing her best to live her life normally now-- though she's doing it all in the worst possible ways.

But... everything and anything that has ever been hurled (verbally or otherwise) at Kevin Federline is A-OK with me. Funny how that works, eh?

Go Fug Yourself is one of those awesome just-for-fun blogs that somehow attract a readership as rancid, bitter and misanthropic as the original posters are funny. Jessica and Heather themselves are consistency hilarious-- especially with the awesome Britney and Kevin-penned letters to the press!-- but the comments their posts get make my ovaries itch with shame. They make me seriously believe there may be something to the snotty-fat-bitches-on-the-web sterotype after all.

Just... ick, all around. Not that the stupid "you advocate RAPE" post from Kenton was much better.

Y'know, I'm a fairly hardcore feminist, and in following the grand traditions of my people, am typically pretty humourless when it comes to misogyny disguised as good clean fun. And I can't remember anything ever really giving me pause at Go Fug Yourself, which I read obsessively (not the comments, though. Never the comments.) I especially like the way they support actual flesh on famous bodies, as opposed to a skeleton wrapped in one layer of skin and one of Dolce&Gabbana.
