The Daily Show RPS comm has managed to be calm and properly fangirly ever since the Wonkette outing. Who would've thought the next kerfluffle is about... icons?

No, I didn't see that coming either. But apparently LJ icons are SERIOUS BUSINESS. Oh, and unless you hate every right-leaning pundit you're not a REAL TDS fan, but just an overhormonal fangirl with pussy for brains. Watch as [info]phantasmrose brings in the Fandom Police! Cower, you fake fans, and fear!

ETA: Mod 1 weighs in, followed by much word. Mod 2 isn't quite that subtle. Wankers come out of the woodwork, and the smell of grudge is getting thicker...

So this is what the "don't disrespect people because of their icon choice!" mod post was about. Jeez, I hate Tucker Carlson, but the icon isn't TEH GREAT ANTI-LIBERAL SATAN! (That would be Robert Novak. If phantasmrose was a REAL FAN SHE WOULD KNOW THAT OMG.)

Also, gypsy_roulette + courtney beth /= OTP. I have no idea what's going on there.

It was a situation that obviously got out of control, but has been solved. No worries. Just some people freaking out over some petty icon issues.

Yeah, I saw the mod post and that's what made me dig this up. I'm just a lurker and I have no vested interest in any of this.

It was wanky, not because of the difference of opinion but the way in which it was expressed. I think breaking out the fandom police graphics and personal insults warrants wank.
