OMG make icons MY way, bitches!
You know a post is going to be good when it starts out with: "So perhaps this is out of line, and if that's the case, feel free to flame me all you want."

So there's this lj community called book_icons. Members make icons. Somehow related to books. Unfortunately, [info]necroscopics feels that most of the icons being made are sub-par. So he decides an inspirational post is the way to get those creative juices flowing in the way he wants them to.

As to the oft-repeated question of, "If you want something so damn bad, why don't you do it yourself?" [info]necroscopics replies: And maybe I will make it myself. But complaining about it and trying to inspire others is just SO much more fun!

ETA: The post has been deleted, sadly enough. [info]necroscopics did post again to say this:
Subject: Ha-ha!
I'm sorry I said anything. I should have known better.

Though, um. That has been deleted too.

ETA 2: The final post on the matter made by the mods. They delete all posts that have comments disabled, hence, his posts being deleted. And [info]necroscopics's final apology on the matter:
I disbaled comments to end the subject and issue an apology. That didn't work out so well.

I didn't realize no comment posts would be deleted.

And I'm sorry I said anything about the abundance of shitty icons icons I don't like.
(sic)

Well, of course! Once you've master the cropping tool, you're considered an artistic genius on teh internets!

His journal layout is also a work of sheer creativity and beauty, too.

Instead of quoting Wonka on a Wonka screenshot, I used a Yu-Gi-Oh screenshot because manga Pegasus reminds me of an evil Willy Wonka. My icon reeks of ingenuity! *sticks tongue out*

I just want to thank you for finding and posting this wank, because now I found the book_icons comm, and it's wickedly awesome. I got two of the best icons based on the Little Miss books and one of Curious George eating pancakes.

Clearly, this dude didn't know what the fuck he was talking about. ;)

He's got the definition of 'lazy' mixed up with 'fun'.

Seriously, you want something specific? Do it yourself, man. That's what I do. I've got this pride thing where I only use my own icons, but I still like other icons. Quit bitching.

That's why we have wars. When you can't change someone's mind, the only way to win the argument is to kill them.

How sad is that?

A Kerry lover moves to a new area. He meets his neighbors, but learns that the whole community is a Bush community. He decides not to pack up and leave, thinking they can all get along. But he's wrong. He tries to talk to them, make them realize that Bush is not good for the Earth and it's species. He makes dioramma's and pictographs. They mock him and throw things. And in the dead of night, they break into his house and stable him up to a huge wooden letter M (what's W upside down) and they burn him. The moral here is this:

You can't change people's minds about things they like. Period.

wtf?
Kerry Supporter thinks that "they can all get along" but only if the Bush supports agree with him and continues to harrass the Bush supporters to "make them realize" that they're wrong and yet the Bush supporters are the only ones who can't deal with the fact people don't agree with their views.

oi.

I vote for this as worst example to prove your point. ever.
