LOTR+FanartistxWank=LOVE?
Fanartist wank is a thing of beauty. And what better fandom than the Lord of the Rings fandom to provide such wank? One Karadin wanks, and wanks hard, by snarking at one commenter who wonders why her sketches are so messy. The commenter gets insulted and snarks back. It goes downhill from there, and gets bah-leeted after awhile.

HOWEVER. This fanartist continues to wank all over the place, including her community, and several more times in her journal, insisting you can't critique a piece that isn't finished and generally thinking she's the martyr.

Choice wankiness:

"Frodo: *gets glass cleaner* Did you get another response from the art expert?

Karadin: No and will probably not, I deleted the comments and banned 'em. HA-HA!"

"Frodo: You snarked at someone's unsolicted commentary, and their first remark was to call you a filthy name. I don't see that they have any high ground to stand on after that."

"No one is right to offer a critique when it is not solicited"/"I don't invite comments on these works in progress as finished artworks - why? Cos they ain't done!"

[this F_Wer wants to know why you post them in the first place then. So in short, comment-whore?]

Also, apparently drawing bodies and faces with emotion is "emo" and she doesn't have to draw emotions because "it's not her style", according to the fanartist. Bonus includes bizarre conversations among herself, and "Elijah", "Frodo", and "Kevin". Oh, and "THEY R JUS JELUS AND STUPID" gets invoked.

Aww, a wee fanart wank. I shall stroke it, and lube it, and call it George!

I wish I could get a fictional character to stand up for me!

I call dibs on Sephiroth. He's a man of few words...as he'd simply summon Meteor instead of talking.

I lay my claim on Zero from Megaman X/Megaman Zero. Because while he may not be my favorite character, he's definitely more of a badass than Axl, and Z-Saber = LIGHTSABER, DUDE, WHAT'S NOT TO LOVE.

(I love you, Axl, but you're a twerp. *pets*)

o_O  It's sounds more like a bird call than a word. Okay, it's scraping the barrel to pick on spelling, but... dude, sound it out and at least get the phonetics right. Or you could, you know, press spell check. (Probability of an error in this message just skyrocketed.)

Frodo: And she wore these atrocious hats, one with the entire city of Osgiliath on it, in yellow.

Most of the dialogue sounds a bit stilted for Frodo, but that last was pretty funny.

Frodo: You snarked

Rather obviously OOC now, wot? Aw.

She kinda gets points for creativity. Still, bending imaginary characters to her will in an attempt to pwn her critics is on the bizarre side. Moral of the day: Honey, when your art is finished and you don't like the critiquing your receive, then either learn from the critiques or grow a thicker skin. A bit of both probably wouldn't be a bad idea.

PSSST! If you don't want comments on unfinished works, you could cut down on them by - oh, I dunno - disabling comments on those posts.

Why, yes! I am a rocket scientist. Why do you ask?

this F_Wer wants to know why you post them in the first place then. So in short, comment-whore?

No no, everybody knows the purpose of posting images is so that everybody can stare at them in silent awe, occasionally piping up to say how great they are, and keep up the good work and all that. Criticism = flaming, remember.

I just...I'm really confused. Are the characters her muses, or RPG characters, or what? The way people were saying in the comments to the last post that "your boys are so gorgeous, loyal, and supportive" makes me put my head on one side and wonder where these invisible people are and why I can't see them.

The observer is first struck by the Victorian Kate Greenaway school of illustration which you give a nod to at first glance, then the eye realizes the powerful erotic content of the drawing and the imagination flares, which then contrasts with the continued observance of the strict, almost repressive control of the precise line and the carefuly measured use of space, the conflagration of the two themes; the conservative line with the blatant romantic sexuality of the poses causes a dynamic in your drawings that I find unique.

I think I just threw up in my mouth a little, and I'm an artist.

Her art reminds me of a early, stiff melding of Mucha and Colleen Doran. I see the potential, and the fact that I love both Much and Colleen Doran makes me reaaaallly want to like her art. Her lines are simple and pretty. But she is... completely whacked in the head. Utterly. It's tearing me apart, this internal battle between "Ooo so pretty and art nouveau!" and "OMG the batshit it buuuurns!"
