Oh no, not EverQuest wank!

Everquest is a popular online game that has had a following for years now. When you play EQ2, you have to follow rules, and one of those rules is what you can name your character. EQ2 doesn't want you giving your characters well-known names from history, religion, or popular culture, vulgar names, and names with titles, among other things. This never goes down well with people who want to name their characters names like Darthjesus and Princessofcarnage, and arguments over this always seem to eventually turn to Hitler's name being thrown around, such as what happened in this older thread. (And you can't call your character Hitler, either.) If you see someone violating this policy in the game, you can report the name and it will be changed if the GMs agree with you.

This time it all starts when eqfool makes a post on the official Everquest 2 forums about his character's name being changed. Everyone is pretty civil until other players manage to get eqfool to tell them what his character's name was: Knockers. eqfool quickly launches into an angry rant about "idiot name nazis," how terrible SOE is, and adds a cherry on top of the classic wank sundae by blaming it all on "Amerika."

The discussion continues for a while with people discussing naming in games and the ramifications of naming a character "Knockers." xolthar05 adds to the discussion with this statement: “The mammary gland http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mammary_gland is an adaptation of the sweat gland. It's can get all scientific and very unexciting,” which should make some of you happy even if you don't know a thing about EQ2 because boobs were discussed.

After this, Outkast1980 enters the discussion with a heated post. He calls all those who petition names "immature kids," and starts complaining about how his character's name (Outkast) was reported and changed to Outflast. His friend's name was changed from Princessofcarnage to Winfueva, and another friend's name was changed from Weewee to Weril. Damn those immature kids for reporting those incredibly mature names. He proceeds to diss SOE, because that's the most popular hobby for people on the forums, and adds that he will probably be banned from the forums for exercising freedom of speech. He also includes: "I have talked to enough gamers that have told me, we don't bother with forums because gms,devs etc won't ever take critism and admit they have done wrong, and everyone else is just fake and will always back sony and the devs/gms (to certain extent of course)."

Ktok immediately writes a short message pointing out where every one of Outkast1980's names violated the naming policy. I guess in Outkast1980's terms, Ktok's one of those fakes who backs Sony. Outkast1980, the boy who can't stand it when people won't admit they're wrong, returns with this post:

outkast being a copyright issue. get a frigging grip already
and the princessofcarnage reason is simply [expletive ninja'd by Faarbot]. I could careless what it could be mistaken for.
WeeeWeee being derived as anything else is childish simply put. if 95% of you take that as a male's anatomy. that shows enough to me on why so many names get reported.
