	Yep. Totally knew that was going to end up here. While I agree with the "don't take fanfic so damn seriously" message, chaos_r would've done a lot better not to drag the "THINK OF TEH CHILDREN" angle into it. My take? We could be like the fandom ninja, stealing badfic writers away form their abusive homes and giving them nourishing food, a soft bed, kind discipline and therapy. And we could read them LOTR canon while they sleep, so their stories will improve, too!

I worship her now.

I do find it interesting that people fling the 'LOL internet is serious business' at ranters but never at the oh-so-fragile ficcers.

Maybe I'm mean, but if someone's gonna chuck themselves off a bridge because they got bad reviews at FF.net then I think they're the ones who should take the internet less seriously.

Just my opinion though.

Aparrently, children's feelings are so fragile that they can't be told that something they did sucks or that they're not going to get an A in all their tests. Their purity and fragility might be so crushed by knowing the truth about the standard of their work that we are not allowed to have critical opinions about it, even when it's been published in a public forum.
