If this works I am *so* starting a Gerard Butler fansite...
Meet Sharon (aka Coymoon and Parielle), the webmistress at martoncsokas.net. Sharon is revolutionizing the terms “ownership” and “copyright” by applying her own unique blend of fannish entitlement to them. Sharon feels that “owns” any and all pictures of Marton Csokas (the guy who played Celeborn in LotR) posted on the web because, well she does all the hard work of finding and reposting (and watermarking!) them to martoncsokas.net.
This came to head when a fellow fan had the audacity (gasp!) to write her and ask permission to gack pictures (that the webmistress doesn’t, yanno, actually OWN) and use them to make Icons:Hallo, my name is LoLL and I'm from Italy.
First, let me tell you how much I apreciate the job you manage with the site: a true omage to an actor who really deserves it.
Second, I'm writing you for asking you permission to use some of the pics you have in your site for realizing LJ icons.

I'd really like to make more Marton's icons using the pics you update on your site (Aeon FLux, Asylum).
Of course I'll credit the site in the LJ Info page and, if you like, I can create icons for the site too.

Secondly, I think you fail to understand my whole point - The Marton Csokas Archives is not a feeding frenzy for fans to come by and take what they want.
Let me make it clear for you in case you have trouble with my English.
If you want to make icons, for whatever reason, find your own god-damn pictures!!! Are you lazy?
Giving permission to use specific photos I have found (that you can't find!) and then have them posted on a site that is probably not particularly respectful, is not my intention. Again, you don't understand. I would only give permission for a photo to be filed away OFFLINE in YOUR folder on YOUR COMPUTER!!!!
Now go away and stop pissing me off.

My "aggressive" behavior is due in fact to the numerous "sick" web sites out there like Loll's World where you have images like Viggo fucking Orlando. Now, that's why I'm being so rude. You call yourself a fan and then disrespectfully and outlandishly portray these fine decent actors in the rudest and crudest art. Why in heavens name would I want to have any links or whatever to Mr. Csokas's web site???? I AM TRYING TO MAINTAIN HIS INTEGRITY, something you're obviously not trying to do. So go spread the word that the webmistress at the Archives is a bitch. At least I'm not a pornographer.

Please don't force the MCA webmistress to stamp "The Marton Csokas Archives" right through his nose next time. Long, long hours are put in researching the Net for the Archives' content so pirating is not appreciated without at least a nod to the web site it was taken from.

marton_daily, where Sharon apparently wanted people banned for stealing her pictures . You know, the one’s she’s stolen from other sources like Getty or even fellow fans, and then watermarked with her web addy. The whole thing just pisses her off and she’s decided to stop piracy (other than her own of course) and ban the worst “offenders” from her site (bright RED letters hers):

This should remind you that there's a very dangerous element in today's Internet culture. It's called ANONYMITY. It allows a person to dabble in whatever evil behavior they want because consequences don't exist when nobody knows them.
So now she scrawls her name across the pictures to PROTECT Marton! Wow, she really is his number one fan...
