Harry Potter wank...of course
I feel so special. It's my first wank!

Apparently everybody in the Harry Potter fandom hates Katie Couric. She's a terrible interviewer, etc. etc. So when news is annouced that Katie Couric will Interview J.K. Rowling, and the network is accepting questions from viewers...the shit hits the fan.

People start throwing out accusations that kids don't have good questions, Katie Couric is a terrible journalist, and everything in between. I can't link to some of the choicer tidbits, due to the comments system on Leaky Couldron, but it's all there (hint for new visitors: the oldest comments are at the bottom of the page; newest at the top).

I'm really loving the offence new-adults are taking (I spent most of my life as a child being condescended to...). I sympathize completely because I *still* get that, but it's not helping the wank any.

Whew. Hopefully that first time was as good for you as it was for me :-)

Who the fuck is Katie Couric?

Damn, there goes my Batshit Crazy HP Fen membership... They'll never let me back into the club now.

I admit, I don't know exactly...a journalist on one of those morning shows, I believe (though I think I should probably be putting journalist in quotations...)

She's the blonde woman on the Today Show with Matt Lauer. She did the "Teens and Sex" or "Sex 411" or something a few months ago. A lot of people call her a MILF, apparently.

I remember when some people actually considered her to be a legitimate journalist.

Once. For twenty minutes.

She's blonde? o_O

And Katie Couric is so not a MILF. She's too perky. Marg Helgenberger, now *there's* a MILF. Yowza.

Well I'm not shocked that the questions will be mostly from kids. That's how it's always been. I'm sure the adults in my fandom will find a way to get in some questions though.

Katie: Little Sara from Walla Walla Michigan wants to know "When are Sirus and Remus going to fuck?"

Katie: Oh here's a good one! Little Harold in Chipper, California wonders why you're such a bitch to Draco, everyone knows that he's just misunderstood except yourself, thoughts Mrs. Rowling?

lol it's true! I love my fandom, but damn we're some wanky folks.

Katie: We're now taking a few phone calls. Hi Trixy you're on the air!

Trixy: Hi Mrs. Rowling! I love your books and since you're the canon goddess, would my fanfic be more realistic with one dildo in Harry's ass or two? Thanks for your input and can't wait for HBP!

Katie: Would you rather use a Portkey .org or a The Sugarquill?

Rowling: Um, I guess a portkey?

Katie: SO HERMIONE DOES LOVE HARRY!!!!!!!!

Rowling: What?

Katie: H/Hr right? You like Portkeys!

Rowling: Well yes, but I use quills in real life.

Katie: SO IT'S RON/HERMIONE IS IT??????

Rowling: :\

kids don't have good questions

Katie: The next question is from Little Billy from Miami Florida. What is your favorite color?

Jo: THIS is an EXCELLENT question! When I was writing Rabbit I thought I liked blue, but when I was older I was open to more color choices. Violet, green, periwinkle. I was exposed to all. It was hard. Staying up late, looking at color cards from the Home Depot. It was...just horrible. To this day, I look back and say "I should have stayed with blue". I now like a nice safe red. So, my favorite color is red.

Potter fans: See? That proves Sirius isn't dead. She didn't mention black, and "periwinkle" is an obscure slang term for a big black dog that was imprisoned unfairly and everybody thought he was dead but he wasn't.

Also, "Violet"? Man, is she just going to come out and ADMIT Sirius/Remus like that!??

I toss my cookies a little whenever Couric talks to JKR. God, Couric is a bubblehead. But, most talking heads are now, so no surprises.

Doesn't the famous "do you really think they're suited?" quote come from a Couric interview in which she asks JKR if Harry and Hermione are going to fuck kiss?

Just can't wait for this one. Should be interesting. I think Al Roker should do the interview. He's cuter.

I don't give a shit if kids or adults ask the questions. JKR's not going to answer them anyway. Plus, we're talking about network television, and a five minute (if that) carefully scripted interview unless Couric gets all bubbleheaded ... Oh. Wait.

Yeah, I'm guessing most of the questions will be real dull and basic, none of these "This is my theory about Harry's and Voldemort's connection, is it true, is it true?!"-sort of geek questions.

& Yeah, I think Couric asked the H/Hr question.

I was disappointed with those publisher-based HBP contests that allow winners to ask Rowling questions...only if they're under the age of 15. :(

I have so many theories, though, that I wouldn't want to ask a ship question. Rowling doesn't answer them, so why waste the time? (Also, I don't care.) I really want to know if my theory about Voldemort is possible...

I'd love more theory-based questions but I also think that there's a problem with them as she can't really reveal anything huge about the plot in the future books. And I wouldn't want to get unintentionally spoiled for anything huge or semi-big.

So really the "best" questions in that way are the "What's Ron's eye colour?"-type of questions.

The questions I'd like to ask JKR aren't fit to print, or air for that matter.
