You must all bow to the magic deer!
Okay, the wank is sort of continued from here.

For those of you who want to get right into it, here's the recap:

Blue Rose: Tabletop RPG based on Mercedes Lackey style fantasy books, including psychic animals and a kingdom that chooses its ruler by the blesings of a mystical Golden Hart (as in deer). Has a modified d20 system.
Nisarg: Doesn't like the setting. Likes the system. Is quite vocal about this.
The Forum Mods: Are willing to make Nisarg a system-only forum so that he'll quit bugging the other forum goers.
Other Forum Goers: Are happy to see Nisarg go, as they don't like him much anymore.

So, anyway the thread begins with a comment about a discussion on another forum about the game. The attitude is a little groupthinky and circlejerky, but not terribily wanky. Yet.

Nisarg, seems to take exception to the display: You know honestly, if you read it, nine-tenths of all the postings on that page are fairly well-written and just. Its a tiny minority that expressed views that were completely out there.
Yet you guys are making it sound like Highwayman was a lone voice of reason amidst a sea of nutcases and fanatics, and that just wasn't the case.

Spectral Knight conceeds the point, buit also feels the need to point out that, unlike Nisarg, these people don't go onto the Blue Rose board to say these things.

Of course this turns into a raging argument between several posters and Nisarg.

Highlights include: Nisarg telling the other posters that he will stop responding to insults. About 2 pages into three.

Forum-goers deciding that since the mods haven't locked/deleted the topic, it is now open season on Nisarg. Look for the Quotes list.

The best part is that I'm pretty sure both sides have sticky fingers by the end of it. AND it's ongoing. But now I want a magic deer icon.

Ah, Nisarg. We miss you. Not.

And damn it, I need to pick up BlueRose.

Do we have a story here? (Someone on one of the threads mentioned Nisarg was banned from another site for pulling stuff like this.)

I've heard good things about the Blue Rose system, but the setting just plain doesn't appeal to me. Have you played it at all? Is it worth picking up?

I'm playing it now, and it does take a bit getting used to (It's easy to get knocked out in a fight, but hard to die) if you come from a low-lethality setting. I really like the magic, though. I think it's simple to build characters, but I'm not sure if my group agrees. It IS less of a pain than d20, though.

Since I don't care much for the setting (I run it because I didn't have time to convert my own), I bought the PDF and printed the chargen pages.

I dled the PDF from the website, and was *really* unimpressed with their "starter" campaign. It was so simplistic. Is the setting itself any better, or would I be wasting my time?

I haven't really looked at the starting campiagn. It's a pretty so-so setting -- I'm more interested in the mechanics. I usually end up building my own settings, anyway.

What. An. Ass.

If that was an example of Nisarg's usual behavior... geez.

Although I have to admit it would have been fun to see a collective "So what?" or "Okay!" posts to him.

"Your setting sucks!"
*yawn* "So?"
"Aren't you going to debate me?"
*stretch* "Hmmm? Did you say something?"

They're all covered in spooge, but man, Nisarg looks like a perpetulal wank machine.
