Yaoi Wank version 0.132159853 *siiigh*
It all started with a seemingly innocent post like this at 4chan...

Image hosted by Photobucket.com

Ahem. I would just like to say that Uke's are like kittens. They need attention and will become sad if they are ignored. And just like a kitten, if you don't give them... they'll bother you until they get it.

But after 2/3 squeals, ZOMG people start wanking!

SC:
Err... no... just because a guy likes to take it up the ass doesn't make him an annoying attention seeker...
I assume you are a girl? I assume you have never been in a gay, man-man relationship? I assume you are young?

Shun:
A-fucking-greed! That stupid view of how couples are viewed in yaoi makes want to quit and move on into slash.

***

Queequeg: Yaoi isn't about how real homosexual relationships are. That's what homoerotica, or gay porn, is for. Yaoi is about... uh, yaoi - it's very often pointless, unrealistic, and silly. It features a seme and a uke. And it's meant for women in Japan, not gay men. Gay men are welcome to enjoy it of course, but they should realise that realism is hardly the intent of Japanese yaoi.

Shedding Ink: You might as well look somewhere eles. Bottoming doesn't mean the guy has to be femmy and fragile. In all actually, it's the guy on bottom who has all the say and power, really.
It's because most yaoi artists are female that yaoi fangirls think that the uke has to be girly and pathetic. You're really just a het fan but because the majority of what people as uke is femine you get confused into thinking you like two guys together.
You don't really. Don't come to /y/. This board isn't for you.

Queequeg:
Sweetie, you don't get it. Your FYI has nothing to do with yaoi. Most girls (notice the 'most') don't care about the way gay sex really is. Sex is gross all around. Yaoi however, is pretty and tidily formulaic and 2D. It's made to please the sensibilities of Japanese women, many of whom are intimidated by big old dominant guys and so prefer to fantasize about unrealistic, twiggy, flowery femme-men. It's for them. It's for these little fangirls that much of this formulaic semeXuke is crafted. FOR THEM. Not for little gay boys. I would imagine this has much to do with why photos aren't allowed on this board. Girls don't want the real thing. You're right - many of them are uninterested in real homosexual activities and relationships. That's why they like yaoi. Yaoi does not have to be realistic! You don't have to like it because it is not meant for you! :)

***

omgwtf: 1) is it really safe to say this about all this yaoi? i mean, who is consuming it right now? isn't it a little bit presumptive to assume things like (from queequeg) "Yaoi however, is pretty and tidily formulaic and 2D. It's made to please the sensibilities of Japanese women, many of whom are intimidated by big old dominant guys and so prefer to fantasize about unrealistic, twiggy, flowery femme-men."
that seems awfully presumptive! maybe you are in fact qualified to make that assumption, maybe not. nice exoticization!
2) i still think it's awfully fucked up that people persist in these stereotypes. i think that hiding behind "well, it's all fantasy!" is cheap. given who is producing this stuff, and given who is viewing it, and given that folks JUST SAID "omg real sex is so gross" -- it seems weird to just perpetuate stereotypes about male homosexuality. come on now.

SC: Yeah, why can't we move on from the stereotypes?
You know, there ARE real gay guys like that, but most of them are being influenced by the media of today, thinking "Oh, I'm gay. I HAVE to be like Jack on Will & Grace, or the Queer Eye guys!" When in reality, they should just be themselves.
Because you know what, if a rabid yaoi fangirl got a hold of a budding young gay boy, I'd fear for his future.
So all we're saying is we should stereotype less, ya?
BTW, you say sex in general is gross? You're on a board where there are guys fucking eachother. Don't give me shit like that.

***

Queequeg: This is obviously a great concern of yours and I respect that. You should fly to Japan and start a door-to-door compaign against all the female yaoi/BL artists, and tell them how much harm they're doing the American homosexual community. :) Honestly, as much as I sympathise with gay guys, I've always viewed yaoi as one of the only forms of erotica that women have to themselves. I'm sorry if, as a gay man, you don't like interior design or if you're not as cute as Jack... but uke so small and pretty ;_; Let uke be pretty? Please please? I promise he doesn't like show tunes or Tori Amos.

Anonymous: why's everyone flipping out anyways? it's not like she's talking about REAL gay boys, just pretty anime ones. we can abuse them with any stereotypes we want, because they're fictional characters. anyone who wants to fight the stereotype can go ahead and create/promote characters that don't fit into it, simple as that, and people will go on liking what they like. no need to get your panties in a wad because someone has a personal ideal for ukes.

SC: That's pretty ignorant. So if I felt like creating a Mexican cartoon character that wore a sombrero, carried around guns, and stole cars screaming "Ai yi yi", I could make it?
Let's make another black guy with huge lips and robs people! Or an Asian hooker that can't drive and says "Me love you long time"!
Yeah, let's abuse fictional characters with stereotype just because.
Dick.
Oh wait, you're probably a girl aren't you? "Dick is a bad term to use". You're just a pathetic fangirl with horrible acne that sits on her computer, staring at yaoi, wishing she was born a boy, thinking in her heart she was meant to be a man because her ideas of yaoi lead her to believe that's how gay couples really work. A sad girl, that sits alone reading manga at lunch in school in the corner. One that would latch onto any gay guy and try to mold him into her perfect specimen of "uke". A girl with no life.
Yeah, stereotypes aren't so fun when they're applied to YOU, huh?

***

Anonymous: ahh! ; ; what is going on here ><
Yaoi is not gay porn.
I am a guy, and i like yaoi BECAUSE "uke so small and pretty". Try as i might (and i have tried) im not able to get off on gay porn, i like yaoi because its yaoi, if it was "realistic" i wouldnt like it.
Realism? Thats what phototography is for.

SC: You're in for one HELL of a problem in life then.
And to Geekchick, the first post I made wasn't offensive. I was stating my opinion on the subject. Then it became a mini debate.
You were obviously offended by what I said about annoying fangirl stereotypes. It's the same irk that gets to us guys that like it up the ass when it's assumed that we're all SO QUEER.
My main point is, fine, you girls are obviously going to think in your own fantasies, but it's certainly not needed to state idiotic statements like the original poster for the public to see. Why? What if people come by here, and are influenced by it? The ignorance spreads. Some might think it's really true about gay guys, some will think of us as annoying fucking "kittens".
It'd be the same exact thing that if I just randomly posted "Ahem. I would like to say that I think all yaoi-fangirls have no life. It's funny that they think they should be boys. Penis envy is hillarious."
Yeah, it's comparable. That can be how I view you all, just like how you view all uke's, right? And they're both negative statements, albiet, mine moreso.

Sheeesh... Can't we just get along and look for our preferred kind of smt, dammit?

Actually, I kinda/sorta/maybe would agree with Mr.High and Mighty, because I have found some yaoi fangirls who act as if gay men couldn't enjoy yaoi at all because "It's not for them and have nothing to do with it, at all" (And then I get this image of a certain cartoon bunny.. but that's my weird mind) but.. c'mon. It's just a silly picture with a silly tagline... not the end of the world.
On the other hand, color me ignorant... what exactly is 4chan? I thought it was a loli-con board? Or is a shota board? Or I'm completely mistaken?

The loli-con/shota board is not4chan, an offshoot which is not actually affliated, though people generally lump them together.

*lubs on the picture*

And the point about Japanese yaoi fangirls having no idea about real mansex... So. Fucking. True.
When I was staying in Japan, my host-sister's friend was a "gay-sex expert!", as my hsis introduced her.
Yet when I (accidentally) purchased an mpreg manga (I was more interested in the family portrayal on the cover) and expressed my displeasure at the mpreg, this girl had no fucking clue of how two male partners could truly go about getting a kid.
Yappari.

Ironic how self-righteous and 'OMG ME SO BETTER THAN YOU' people can get on 4chan, which is basically all and ONLY about jerking off. It's fun to sometimes see someone mistakenly post something ZOMG GAY in /h/ and then get blasted by people who get off on looking at tentacle porn and girls with breasts bigger than their entire upper torso peeing on each other.

I think, in some weird sort of way, the people wanking the perpetuated stereotypes are trying to say "Hey, why don't you bend over if you like ukes so much? I mean, if they're cute and kitten-like, don't you wanna be cute and kitten-like too? Oh, no? Well, no shit. That's because they aren't like that at all."

Unfortunately, the spooge makes it hard to see and the goggles are all crusty. Everybody loses!

Wait, wait, waaaait. Isn't this the same 4chan that's had a noticeable increase of users posting bara (burly muscleman-type) yaoi? Wherein neither character is exactly all with the femmy, willowy frames and sparkles and eyelashes you could comb your hair with and all that (as far as I can tell)?

Irony goes here, yo.

(That pic is awfully adorable, in a slightly-unwholesome kinda way...)

And I just love the poster using the term "decided to become a yaoi".

They decided to become a no plot/no point/no resolution? How oddly fitting of the wank.

What I find ironic here, is that the same bishie-defenders complain about censorship more than the baras, yet they're here to saying that gay porn is nasty.

Now about that picture. It's cute and all, but if it acted like what the tagline says....

I would fucking blow it's head clear off.

I agree with the guys. So shoot me.

The thing with fictional characters is that they influence how we think of real people. If one finds that gay men aren't all willowy and pretty and willing to perform for women for their pleasure, one will be very angry at them, producing wank like this.

And thank the gods for the bara. *wants Togashi Yoshihiro to draw bara-manga...BADLY*

The thing I find bizarre about this is that a lot of these characters are extraordinarily girly. Not just pretty guys, the artists seem to want to take away almost all trace of masculinity, to the point of giving them breasts and making them pregnant.
Why don't they just write het?
