The fandoms I keep in my closet
[info]lompe_ posts in Manson_Icons with some particularly irrelevant icons (because spamming a Marilyn Manson community with Britney Spears icons to play troll is the most original thing ever).

People proceed to just not get it.

I call troll, because, I mean, really. But people still don't get it, because I suppose Marilyn Manson is Serious Business and must not be mixed with pop icons.

But it doesn't end there! [info]lompe_ returns with a dazzling on-topic icon. She then proceeds to badger [info]br34k_h4b1t about, uh, something. I can't actually read anything she's saying, I'm not l33t enough.

It's such a cute pet troll.

Uh.
Does 'lompe' actually mean anything in English? In Norwegian it is the name for this round flat "bread" thang made of potato that we usually use to wrap hot dogs.

And now I'm suddenly craving a hot dog with onions..

Actually, I found this hilariously funny. It just kind of comes at you out of the blue when you go to the community and scroll through the posts. I dunno, I thought it was a scream.

But then again, I don't take Marilyn Manson very seriously, even if I do like his music.

I remember seeing a roleplaying rant about people playing a certain kind of character that is required to lie all the time. The rant was about people doing the same old thing every time, just telling the complete opposite (or the nearest possible thing to complete opposite) of the truth with every bit of dialogue. There are many ways to lie that aren't simply stating the opposite of the truth, and those will give more interest and depth to your RPing. That ranter is right, that's boring and uncreative, and it lets people see right through you.
I think that general principle applies to trolling as well. If you go for the painfully obvious opposite of the purpose and attitude of a comm, your trolling ends up very low quality.
