I'm tired and I'm also sick and tired
Cut and pasted from a Mousie at Wank Report

You may remember the NCIS wank from a few weeks ago. Well after an auspicious start to the wanking [info]navy_ncis decide to pick up the baton.

[info]andrea_ms posts some blind gossip from E!online which could be read to be about NCIS.

A couple of people comment, and then [info]iwerewolf puts everyone straight.

No one lied to anyone fans. The cast and crew were sworn to secrecy. A common thing in hollywood.

Scuse this, but I'm tired and I'm also sick and tired of all the hatred that's been spewed towards DPB and all, but GEEZ you guys sound like a bunch of juvinilles that have no clue what it's like out in the real world. I may not have worked on a tv show or movie, BUT I have done very local productions, as in church, and I know full well what it's like to be sworn to secrecy about things. No one on that set lied to anyone about who was going to die. THEY NEVER SAID WHO WAS GOING TO DIE. THAT'S THE WHOLE POINT IN SHOOTING 2 DIFFERENT ENDINGS! Just get over it already!

[info]iwerewolf also knows assasins

His lack of reaction? You obviously have no clue what it means to be an assasin. Have you not read a spy story, whether it's a novel or fan fic? Have you not seen something else like a Bond flick or something else with assasins? Shoot, Alias is a good place to look for things like this.

After a bit they declare

No, more like I really am sick and tired of all the whining and crying, griping and moaning over this. It's a freaking tv show, not the end of the world.

These are actors none of you even know. If they want out for personal reasons, and their characters are killed of then so what.

I swear, it's times like these that make me feel like I'm way too old to be hanging out in places like this because of all the juvinile reactions to stuff.

[info]meyerlemon pops in to point out

Yes- nothing says maturity like berating people and spelling "juvenile" incorrectly.

Everyone else is obsessed as to whether Sean Murray really is DPB's stepson.

Oh, I almost picked this one up. No one came off well in that wank-- between the batshit conspiracy theories and 'if you want to know what being an assassin is like, watch Alias' it was like a Pu Pu Platter of stupid.

That whole thread just killed me.

I'm not ashamed to say that the grammar, mis-spellings, and typos killed me dead. PUNCTUATION, people! Capitalize the first letter in your sentence. I'm not asking anyone to be perfect but come on! There's a reason there's a little box for "Check spelling during preview".

I also am not ashamed to say that I have this little cloud of happiness that my ittle-bitty fandom can now put two, count them two! wanks under their belt. Watch out HP, we're on the way!

I would like to move that whenever someone disses someone else by arguing that their targets "have no understanding of what it's like out in the real world" while arguing that they themselves are savvy on account of something like, say, that play they put on in church or that one girl a friend's cousin knew in high school, they automatically lose one hundred points*. Additionally, they are no longer eligible for the prize behind Door #3.

This looks interesting, but your post seems a little unintentionally cryptic. What's NCIS? Who's DPB? You don't have to do a total 101 and explain everything about the show/fandom, but can we get the acronyms spelled out at least once in the post?

NCIS is actually the name of the series. It stands for "Naval Criminal Investigative Service", IIRC. DPB=Donald P. Bellisario, the creator of the show.

"BUT I have done very local productions, as in church, and I know full well what it's like to be sworn to secrecy about things."

Is this MsA? Cause the relevant bits are there:

1. Does not work in Hollywood
2. Assumes that participation in local productions gives her insight into The Business.

;)

You mean doing church productions isn't EXACTLY like Hollywood productions?

Dammit! And here I was going to go California and audition after my kickass run as one of the shepherds last Christmas.

It's all very disconcerting.

I bet had I played one of the angels or even Mary, I'd be a shoo-in. Heck, even a wisemen would've been better. I'll forever now be typecast as one of those stupid shepherds.

Yeah, you woulda had to have an avant garde production where the shepherds actually had, ya know, lines!

I've played Mary for nineteen years in the family Christmas pageant, and I tell you it takes consummate talent and skill. You shepherds can complain of being typecast but you're shepherds in the first place because you can't wow an audience with "Is there any room at the inn?"

I almost have to agree with you. I mean, you Mary's have to deal with the whole virgin/baby thing. Talk about pressure.

I'm trying to work out what in a church production needs people to be sworn to secrecy.

Spoilers for the Bible!

The agenty one. There's really only two women on the show, and Kate is the one who isn't the awesome gothy lab girl (that's Abby.)

Now I know how the Wimbledon umpires feel. Having run into both [info]iwerewolf and [info]_workinprogress in two separate fandoms, where both managed to hit a shrill pitch of histrionic know-it-all whine at the SLIGHTEST perceptible SLIGHT...

NCIS wank: It's just like tennis - only with fluffier balls.

I would've preferred DiNozzo getting his brains splattered but... Such a SMALL target and from that range?

I wanted it to be Tony too and throughout Twighlight was convinced it was going to be him. So that bullet between Kate's eyes was all the more shocking.

(And Clarkson/Hammand slash? OMG!) I love that icon. Snapping knicker elastic at 100 yards.

I wasn't. Though I've been hoping since the season halfway mark that someone would tie a concrete slab to DiNozzo's feet and throw him in a lake. TV Character Death has zero shock/surprise value for me, mainly because every time a TV Character Dies a Fangirl gets her start-a-campaign wings.

(And Clarkson/Hammand slash? OMG!)

(I remain seeking some - preferably of the kinky Clarkson tied to the bonnet of a Vectra with a tow-rope variety)

I love that icon. Snapping knicker elastic at 100 yards.

Hee! *blushes*

To me, this is the best part:

[info]iwerewolf:
Unlike some people, I have a life. A very full one. One that involves a full time job and voulenteer work at my church doing behind the scene production type work. So I don't have time to waste sitting here foaming at the mouth about things. unlike somepople
