Man, Oh Man
This is just too good to pass up. Someone who was recently wanked for insisting he wasn't a fan (writing fanfic doesn't count, of course) now weighs in on f_w.

The girls over on fandom_wank don't actually DO anything but bitch....they don't really have any connection to anything outside themselves.

Really? Damn, I mean, my full-time job, friends, family, and working out at the gym don't count, because I am a FEELTHY FAN who reads and writes fanfic.

(And dude, point, laugh, and mock aren't the same thing as bitch. Or our webpage would say bitch, bitchety, bitch bitch.)

Well, stiff roadkill counts if you think it's horrific to a dead person to have sex with their corpse. Personally, I'm really not sure how I would feel if someone were having sex with my dead body as I was looking down/up on them from wherever, but right now I think I would think it was amusing unless the person was really gross in that 'I can braid my backhair' kinda way.

That's a point I'm going to ponder.

Darlings, I do adore f_w, mainly for the biting, witty comments...

...but is this really wank? A flame, perhaps, but it lacks the true heights of self-importance (that you *know* the man is capable of) that shows true wankery.

People, you don't need to defend yourselves, you are what you are. Posting "I do too have a life!" just creates its own wank. You end up sounding like the typical marysued author who leaps in to show those nasty reviewers the One Truth.

They've said it all before, but who gives a flying fluck? You point and laugh, that's all that matters. Since when did you need to prove your qualifications to wank? Be *proud* of your mockery!

Really, people, comics-fic is capable of so *much* more -- I suppose it's a shame we've been remarkably quiet lately, and that most of the best aren't likely archived...

Because I read it as the second- as a direct attack not on the noble fen that make up this journal, but on the very foundation of this community itself! I mean, without connection or association with fandom groups outside ourselves, what exactly can we accomplish? How will our goals be met? What exactly do we expect to do in here?

Question for the comic book fans: Is this actually true? Because my general first impression of these particular folks would be for them to more likely be on the "anti-plebe" side of the fence. At least, after reading Mr. noNONOTAFAN's rant that was wanked...


I love my fandom. Its fun - even with all the stupid fights, and our supposed "self-involved arrogant wankery" (or however it was worded.) So -what- if we're arrogant and wordy and tend to over-analyze everything? Does it matter?

Well, it seems to matter to you guys plenty. All it ever "matters" over here is that said behavior's hilarious to watch.

The idea that F_W is some sort of of insulated clique is ridiculous. Even more ridiculous when you consider this guy's hung out here and had a trashing good time himself when it suited his purposes.

Maybe this is some sort of vague, roundabout way of saying "get a life!", which is great because it just proves that he's utterly incapable of getting to the point.

Although this one is missing the great sentiment that made the other true wankage, "Why do unpopular, unsuccessful women (i.e. Fandom Wankers) feel the need to tear down their talented, popular, beautiful sisters (i.e. me, the Wanker)?"
