Short but oh so very sweet
So, Kunicon is actually a series of anime conventions started up by a for-profit company with the purpose of doing several anime cons a year in different cities across the US of A. The past Kunicons, starting in Miami, engendered a lot of complaints from congoers, but their most recent con, in Denver, seems to have gotten the most severe complaints yet.
The head of Kunicon, "Manny" (Moadib), has never reacted in what one might call a mature fashion to bad reviews in the past, and BOY HOWDY is this no exception. Not only does he make anonymous sockpuppety claims that the con was great and "that Manny guy sure is swell!", he then (and this is the icing on the cake for me) insists that wasn't him at all, but somebody "stealing" his login name!! OH NOES IDENTITY THEIFFT!!!
Manny has done many wanky things this past year in the name of Kunicon, but this is, so far, the funniest.

I would never do such a thing. It is Assenine and childish to think I would. I wouldnt throw blame but I wouldnt put it off as an attempt to frame me. But I won't suggest it. This happened recently before we ever crossed paths so I wont make assumptions. But I would hope your intelligent enough to realize it did not come from me.

Wow. He's insulting him for not automatically thinking that someone broke into his account and started acting like an ass. That amount of assholishness pretty much proves it. I'm sure as hell never going to Kunicon.

TOTALLY. I mean, people break into people's accounts and defend that person all the time. Really, just last week I had someone hack my LJ just to tell people what an awesome person I am! It's just getting out of hand.

Not only did this mystery someone start acting like an ass in Moadick's name - but actually went to the trouble of breaking into his account, and then LOGGED OUT TO POST ANONYMOUSLY! ZOMG CONSPIRACY AGNAIST TEH KUNI!~~!@@!#gftwo!

The humor writes itself, it's brilliant.

*headdesk*

I went to Kunicon in Miami. It's sad when chatting up Scott McNeill in the hotel gift shop was the highlight of the whole thing. Waaaaaay too much money for the absolutely shoddy organization. Especially the AMV contest. Worst goddamn presentation ever.

In other words: Manny, your name is quite fitting. Remember what happened to Moad-Dhib? *steeples fingers and giggles evilly at Children of Dune*

The St. Louis con was...okay. Okay if you were used to the old Creation Cons. Attendance was very good, the dealer's room was adequate and most people there seemed to be having a good time.

Our costuming group was approached to do panels and a masquerade, but when the con came around we were told that there wasn't room on the schedule for us. It would seem that Kunicon was very much a "fly by the seat of one's pants" operation. And this Denver report doesn't surprise me one bit.

I've seen worse, believe me.

I worked the Artists Alley at Kunicon Atlanta. I saw good things and bad things happen, and decided that I would wait and see what happens next year.

But Manny? What's up? You seemed so STABLE when I met you at the Terminus Meeting. Now you are on Fandom Wank.
