My Favorite Celebrity, And My New Philosophy
I was reading an issue of that wonderful popculture magazine Entertainment Weekly, when I came across an interview with almost-universally loved megastar Tom Cruise. In particular, he was speaking of his new found love with the talented Katie Holmes. Unfortunately, it appears that their relationship has attracted some "h8ers." But Tom understands the mentality of these sad people, so this was his response:

No, I don't care. I can't live my life based on what other people think about me. Who cares what other people say? There are some people who just don't like to see other people happy. They try to actively stop it. They find that sort of happiness ugly. They're in the minority, but they squawk pretty loud. They're like the bullies you grow up with in school. But you know what? If they don't like it, f--- them. If people don't like it, f--- off.

I am ashamed to see my former fandom_w**ky self in poor Tom's description. Luckily, I have seen the light. So in honor of the new fandom_love, I say we should all follow this example! We should live our new happy lives not caring what other people think. And if they don't like it, f--- them indeed, Tom!

So do I. Especially the way she looked so pretty and glazed after they've watched Battlefield Earth together for the 97th time on top of the Eiffel Tower.

They are SO going to go the distance. Maybe open up a smallholding in South America called 'Cruisetown'. That would be the kewtist thing. *squee*

I think that Tom Cruise is a genuis and he's really underappreciated and Katie Holmes is soooooooooo pretty!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You know, you are soooooo right! I'm sorry for everything I've ever thought about him that was bad and wrong and mean! He really is a misunderstood Artiste, and we have no right to base our judgements on what we see of him. We are really judging ourselves when we do that! Only True Love has the power and wisdom to judge Tom Cruise, and True Love finds him not guilty of everything except being a wonderful and loving human being.

And see? Tom Cruise Love Pink. *points to icon* What could anyone find lacking in someone like that?

I am just so glad that someone brought up dear, darling Tom. I'm so happy to tell you all that I have finally let go of all my hate for that nice, wee man and realised that he's right...I don't need DRUGS to battle my depression, I just need some good vitamins. I'M SO HAPPY!

I used to hate Tom Cruise viciously for various reasons.

Not anymore. Because he's just too right - that was me, not believing in true happiness and love, endlessly insulting people and hurting fandom. It's just amazing how much wisdom he holds.

I don't know if the Prozac was affecting my brain chemistry or what, but I used to think Tom and Katie's beautiful relationship was a sham. (Really!) But now I realize that the person I was then was just sad and blind to the truth. Tom's wonderful advice about women not really needing antidepressants touched me and made me realize the error of my ways. Now I have thrown away my pills and decided to join the Church of Scientology. I don't want to be a slave to drugs any more! Tom, will you personally -- personally -- help me get off drugs?
