To An Author I've Slighted
Dear Anne Rice,
I've been really wretchedly nasty in regards to your writing. I'm not going to attempt to excuse my behavior; I'd just like to offer my sincerest apologies. I read 'Interview' several years ago and genuinely enjoyed it; I also found the first book of the Mayfair Witches series to be a worthwhile read. After a while, I became some kind of literary snotfest on legs, and lost the ability to see the depth and intelligence in your writing. I really was interrogating the texts backward, and it showed. In any case, I'll be revisiting your books with an open mind and a thesaurus, to better educate myself on the subject of well-written fiction.
With Genuine Affection,
Jane

I've just sent this letter to Anne Rice. I think we all should make a concerted effort to put things right with people who've been w**ked. This 'new leaf' business is good stuff.
