I dunno. I actually thought the sentiment he seemed to be trying to express (underneath the terrible translation) about the crappy, corporate-oriented rather than fan-oriented state of the music industry was a rather admirable one.

Then again, I'm one of those crazy Gackt fans, so my opinion should probably be taken with a grain of salt.

Gackt went to Korea for a fan event; somehow the event went wrong on the technical side. There were issues with sound etc, as such Gackt refused to make his appearance until all was resolved.

This took about 5 hours or so the reports say. During these 5 hours all of the Korean fans who came to see him were made to wait.

Once he was on stage he tried to speak Korean but somehow bungled it and asked to speak English...

Other than that it apparently went fine... until he got home that is. Angry fans began to email him bitching about waiting and his arrogance to demand perfection etc…

Hence the Diary entry on his Dears site that the OP is referring to.

BTW I got all of this from

Only somewhat wanky really... but we are talking about Gackt fans. Give it time it will grow.

I was somewhat under the impression (knowing most Gackt fans as I do) that it was rather normal for the fans that send him mail to masturbate while they are doing it...

BTW there is also a troll wank semi going on in the Dears community right now too... funny stuff, but it is probably rather short lived now that the moderators seem to actually give a damn.

	Admittedly, I don't know much (okay, anything) about this guy, but the (former) sociology student in me wonders if there isn't a cultural thing to this. It seems that there's debates going on every where on the net about the Korean fan-meeting.
Well, I don't know who's saying what
But I believe that the decision I made wasn't wrong.

Of course, Other People and their Opinions are below him, because they aren't MUSICIANS and obviously are only dissenting for the sake of dissenting, because All The Cool Kids Are Doing It (ACKADI).

Well, the negative fans (can we call these people fans?) read something about this in an article and right after that they send me mails about the whole thing acting as if they understand the whole situation...
Honestly, I can't care about these people's opinions.
I guess those people get their chance to masturbate by sending those mails.

But, it's not that I want to say who was bad and who was good
I just wanted to say why I made that decision

It was what I felt from the conversations I had with the Korean staff
Things like
"You don't have to sing if the problems with the sound systems aren't working"
and
"In Korea, we do things like this"
and that kind of stuff...

Poor baby. (offers him a juice box and a pat on the head in the hopes that he will ~~never sing again~~ wander off elsewhere)

What I got (felt) from this situation was
In Korea, they have the rotten thing called "THE Public entertainment" (celebrities, etc) that once existed in Japan
And that this system doesn't really work that well in the industry.

The Engrish. My God.

The first thing that comes to mind
Is what exists in the consideration of the artists and creators
The theme "To make something for someone"

Or that of public entertainers, like musicians: "to entertain someone."

Even if this is a mistake, it isn't for saving the "look" of the company or office
I believe that it is what we can do for our fans
However, the borderline of this idea is terribly difficult and even for every one of the fans
What they wants differs, so we conclude that this is the only idea.

Again, bzuh? The Engrish makes me want to cry, because I know he's wanking as hard as he can and I don't even understand him.

If we go on with the scheduled time,
People think that for the time being, the could get things done without being blamed
And arrogantly think that the fans would be happy with whatever they are given with

Haha. He's talking about arrogance? How much hubris does that take?

And yes, there will always be people who will be happy with whatever the entertainment industry tosses them. It's the reason Ashlee Simpson still has fans. ~~That has nothing to do with her fabulous bod.~~

The depth of the music industry will grow, meaning that the market will grow as well, as well as the quality being better
And that being on the top of this quality will mean a very important thing
And that the person on the very top will gain lots of respect.

Because publicity = respect

If somebody doesn't get rid of the rotten idea
The music industry, and the whole idea of music being a way to express things, will not change, and will not grow.
Even if this sounds like a selfish thing to say.

	Eh. I don't think he's being that wangsty. He's well known for being a perfectionist; he would HATE it if his music didn;t sound quite right because of sound difficulties.
