Triple MtS Wank
From a mousie on [info]wank_report:

Another one of those Mock the Stupid wanks which starts with someone exhibiting their own rather limited grasp of reality. Babygrrrrl1000 posts a twofer, neither of which really rise to the level of stupid: the death of the guy who played General Burkhaldter, and the name of Penn Gillette's baby girl. In the middle of predictable cause-of-death wank and stupid-name-wank (with a side trip into the inevitable "My mother went to school with Penn and she says he's a dick" and a little "what do you mean they made a sitcom about Nazis" that hasn't been picked on yet) an unexpected side wank into the Hitchhiker's Guide books breaks out.

One!

Two!

Three!

C'mon, if you read everything you can get your hands on and Douglas Adams is still one of your favorites, then something's wrong.

Obviously you're interrogating the text from the wrong perspective, biatch.

Babygrrrrl1000 posts

Am I psychic if I knew someone named Babygrrrrl1000 was already going to do something completely idiotic? Do I get my own hotline?

How 'bout 1800-667-6642?

Just don't say on the commercials that it spells "moronic," stupid people don't like being called as they are.

No. I think it's an awesome name. Plus it'll be very cool if she grows up to be a prosecutor or a cop. "CrimeFighter is my middle name..."

It is awesome.

I'm not sure it should actually be given to infants.

But I think there's actually a Hollywood rule that celebrity kids are not allowed plain vanilla names, so Penn did the best he could.

If liking the name "Moxie CrimeFighter" is wrong, I don't want to be right.

Although that's probably my inner Disco Bandit talking.

Am I the only one that thinks IPod Beeblebrox is the funniest name for an inanimate object ever? I can't believe I just named mine Dolores. pete_pete_pete is also pretty appropriate. Just shake your head sadly and say "Pete, Pete, Pete". Doesn't he realize that trying to stop Hitchhiker's fans from making Hitchhiker's references is about as useful as trying to stop Farscape fans from using the word "frell"? Not gonna happen, buddy.

I wasn't even old enough to read in either of those years[89,91], so fuck off.

So, if someone tells me that something stopped being cool any time before the summer of 81, I can win the argument with "I wasn't even born then, biotch!"?

Hitchhiker's guide is science fiction fluff. Funny and a nice light read, but beyond that... nothing.

Remember people, you're never allowed to have fun while reading. Ever.

I do admit that this wank is very educational, though. I mean, who knew that Vasco de Gamma was a Puritan?

Odd.
