This one's almost too easy.

Someone in [info]philadelphia posts that "I (and several other members of this community) are planning to protest Antrhocon, a convention for furries. I would like to get some sign ideas and also see if anyone else is interested."

It's fresh, it's still young, but I'd say it's ripe for a massive wank-off if it doesn't get deleted first.

WTH. Clearly, we need to find an island, preferably on another planet, so we can ship idjits like this guy there. [info]bubosquared is right that furries aren't gay people, but it's analagous. His signs might as well say "God Hates Furries."

Sometimes, I don't get this, but at the same time, I sort of do, since there are some parts of the furrydom that are just really out there. (and I'll admit, I am still somewhat in that fandom - on the fringe of the fringe, one could say)

Why is it the extreme cases that wind up representing the whole anyway?

When I first heard of furries, I laughed it up with the rest of them. People who are attracted to cartoon animals? People who dress up as animals to get off? There's something wrong with them. They are OUT THERE.

Then one of my friends started talking a bit about furry stuff, and I teased her. I'd known her for three years, we were very close, and she's an artist, so I just assumed she just liked drawing anthromorphs.

One day I sat up and realized that she was, in fact, a furry.

She's the subtle type- no ears and tail unless it's a con, no fursuit. Sometimes I think maybe she's just in it as one more way to get porn. But it doesn't change the fact that my rain did a 180 and realized that some furries are far too out there for me, but not all of them.

Utterly random OT:

Going to do a photoshoot for a comics anthology in a pub which now no longer exists [BOO, EERIE PUB CO., BOOO, SHAME ON YOU] we discovered we were there at the same time as a furry meet, and found to no one's great amazement that furries are pretty much the same as any other slightly geeky subset of humans, only with ears and tails in this case.

Also, there was one girl who was wearing ocelot arm-warmers and a tail who was hot as fuck. :)

As long as it's consentual and between those of appropriate age, then it's their thing, so who the hell cares?
