Nick Mamatas, a well-reviewed midlist horror writer and rather prominent member of the HWA, has a blog at nihilistic_kid. He has, let's say...strong opinions about the writing business. Recently, he was nominated for the Stoker Awards' Best First Novel category, which he did not win, and, as a result in some way I don't quite understand because the relevant posts have since been edited or deleted, had a tiff with aspiring writer and fellow HWA member Paul Dracon (biledragon). Some of the posts have been deleted from Paul's end, but:
