I would absolve Jo Rowling of any past sins she may have made against any groups at Hogwarts OR any rules of writing (CAPSLOCK RUULEZ!!1) if she killed Hagrid off with a minimum of hysterics-- I really, really would. In one blow, she'd take out the worst freaking accent in the series, the most annoying supposedly-adorable-but-actually-seriously-mentally-retarted childlike-big-magical-friend character, remove all the stupid, boring sub-plots that tend to pile up when he's about AND be able to be rid of the creepy duex-ex-machina that is his kidnapped, chained-up younger brother in Hogwart's backyard as well. How many other canon deaths would be so efficient?!
