*dies laughing* It's the reaction of the Harry/Hermione and other Ron/Hermione revisionists that's killing me. They've realized that can't pretend it's not there anymore, so they're screaming about how the book was OOC fanfic, how JKR raped the characters and shouldn't be allowed to write them anymore, and on and on and on. People are leaving the fandom, people are refusing to leave the fandom because that be admitting that HBP is canon, and it obviously isn't... I loved the book, but I'm almost enjoying the hysteria fandom more. Watching people have full-one toddler level tantrums because JKR didn't alter the characters to conform with their fanfic is really fucking funny.

To be honest, I thought the way Remus/Tonks came together was extremely lame. It was a cheap way of playing up the dramatics between Bill/Fleur. (The ridiculous anti-Fleur stuff was too) Tonks is one of my favorite characters, and I hated her in this book. I'm sure (or praying) that her excessive moping was due to much more than Remus's lame denial of the their love. However, they didn't expand more on it, which made pretty upset.

In fact almost all the shipping, minus some Ron/Hermione and Molly/Arthur moments, was extremely lame. There is a damned good reason why I don't read HP fiction, and I don't need the author reminding me of it.

Thank goodness for the actual plot. I know exactly what part to skip and what parts to reread excessively, next time around.

Since this all happened after Sirius died, I fail to see how Lupin being with Tonks sinks anything. I mean, sometimes when one partner dies, another partner moves on and gets with someone else, right?

I'm not saying Lupin/Sirius is outright canon, I'm just saying that if you want to ship them, I really don't see how Lupin being with someone else after Sirius has been dead for a year prevents that.

Ahh, I knew this wank would be forthcoming. I've never been so glad to not be invested in HP pairings as I am this weekend-- Remus/Sirius was the closest thing I had to an HP OTP, but geez. I'm not so much annoyed at Lupin "moving on" as I am at what the relationship did to Tonks. JKR just took one of her coolest female characters and turned her into an INVERTEBRATE who can't function because she got rejected by a man who shows no sign whatsoever of reciprocating her love! ::pant, pant, wheeze:: Yeah. Sorry. I'll mop up now.

And because I'm trying to balance out my distaste for JKR's pairings with my love for the book as a whole: OMG Bill/Fleur--theirloveissoundercooked!
