Ooooooh, non-HP fandom wank! Squeeee... or not.
In the YGO "let's-laugh-at-the-fanbrats" comm Play The Damn Card, dexantares is not afraid of lumpin' all YGO fangirls in the same sack telling what he thinks of fandom.
This is just a complaint, to you, the general pre-teen Yugioh community. People... please. What is with the "shipping" thing? I'm a Yugioh fan. I play the game. I collect the cards. I watch the show. I read the manga. But seriosuly, I have to admit, the shipping thing is just plain irritating. You guys have to understand that, yes, people don't understand this series, and don't like it. So what? Stay away form those people. And more than anything, be mature about yoru fandom. I have to be honest. I've met people who claim they're mature about it. They're not. They're really not. It's just porn. Call it want you, want, but in all sheer hoensty, you're just coming up with gay pairings that make no storyline sense, just so you have something to get off on. It's embarrassing. It makes me feel bad to be a fan. To be associated with pre-teen girls who sit there writing stories about Malik snogging with Bakura is just irritating.
And another thing. Why is it that everybody digs the bad guys? Seriously, I've seen too many people who cut themselves just because Bakura does. IT DOESN'T MAKE YOU COOL. It makes you sick and weird. Point-blank honesty. In Japan, children are allowed to watch shows that depict frank and explicit material, only because their parents teach them that it's just an art form. A cartoon.
PRETEND.
Japanese parents tell their children not to imitate the bad things they see on television. And niehter should you. ESPECIALLY if you're just doing it because you like the character. You're giving American anime fans a bad name by doing exactly what young CHILDREN have enough common sense NOT to do in Japan. I'm tired of being associated with fans who obsess over homosexual pairings that make no sense, and obsessive worship of MAKE BELIEVE CHARACTERS. If oyu're going to emulate the things a made-up cartoon character does, make sure it's the decent things. I emulate the heros because I know they do the right thing. And I don't mean the fantastic things. I mean helping people, even if you don't want to.
In short, I say to you, the pre-teen, obsessive, immature fans of Yugioh, a series I've grown to appreticate (APPRECIATE, not worship)....
Grow up.
