Metrocon: When Sore Losers Attack!
Looks like we have a Brakus-in-Training on our hands.

Scandia makes a forum post at the Org asking if anyone else has been truly scared by an AMV before. As an example of what s/h/it means, s/h/it cites IcyCloud's Yami no Matsuei AMV that won best comedy at Metrocon 05, claiming that it "OMGZOFFENDEDHER!!!11one!" and that the mere thought of the video is enough to induce a panic attack (which makes me wonder whether s/h/it has ever experienced an actual panic attack, but anyway).

The response is very much Not Amused.

Tiny, but tasty. Enjoy!

Apparently, it wasn't so offensive that she/he/it couldn't sit through the whole video. What, was she/he/it forcibly strapped into a chair?

Does anyone know what happened in the AMV? My pc is way to slow to download and I want to mock. ;.;

It's still up on animemusicvideos.org - this intrigued me so I went to go look it up. It's called 'Quid Pro Quo' under IcyCloud's stuff.

Downloading it right now, I'm intrigued to find out exactly why it was so offensive... I mean, yeah, a YnM comedy vid sounds a little strange, but I fail to see how it can be so shocking...

Oh, god. *just done watching it* That vid is GENIUS, seriously. Heh.

It's not an AMV though - it's all dialogue; clips from YnM stuck together, Hisoka and Tsuzuki having a conversation about what Tsuzuki would be willing to do in order to get a flying car. XD The dub-over's actually really well done, the dialogue matches perfectly with the mouth-flaps, and... well, it's utterly amusing.

Hisoka after ages of mocking Tsuzuki for not wanting to do all the random stuff as part of 'the deal' (having his foot cut off with a hacksaw with no anaesthetic, being knocked out after and letting Muraki and friends have their way with him after etc.):

"You'd do it with a bunch of guys just to get a car? ... I thought I knew you, man."

...it IS funny though. I don't know why they were so shocked and offended by it. o_O

I would think that if you can sit through all of YnM with the implied rape of a 13-year-old boy, you can deal with a joke. And she clearly has no clue what a panic attack is. A panic attack is when I'm in tight spaces and can't breath because I'm claustrophobic, bitch. That's what a damned panic attack is. Not being a whiny idiot. I'm going to go see if I can download this video.

It's dialogue from clerks of dante and randal talking about what dante would do for a flying car. It was so funny, I think I just died. Everyone needs to download this video.

the potterpuff icons are from potterpuffs (a user at LJ) and the others are mostly from the LJ user __dudomgicons (all the credits on my icons are on my image page in the comments)

After getting hit by a semi on the day of JACON 2003, I got such a big mess in my head that I thought Muraki was a member of Weiss Kreusz instead of YnM. I have never watched YnM, but I did not like WK at all.

...um. Did she just try to say that she didn't understand something because she got hit by a truck once?

No, what she said was that she was stupid and thought something was something else and hated it even after she realised she was wrong. Wait... actually, yes.

This is the description of her nightmare:

My nightmare was full of men (kinda looked like bikers) all in an institution and all in wheelchairs who had "given up their left feet for the flying car". I woke up nearly screaming.

OK. If that sort of thing is what she considers a nightmare, I invite her to enjoy some of the clinical depression fueled nightmares I've been having for five fucking years.

I think it's taking a single AMV just a little too seriously. That kind of thing goes in your LJ (preferably flocked), not a public forum.

Eh, to each their own. Out of curiosity, what do you consider a panic attack? Because I've had a few of what I would call thusly but have had other people tell me that they weren't.

It depends a lot on the person. A panic attack is defined as a sudden, overwhelming episode of fear, accompanied by at least 4 physical and/or psychological symptoms, that usually peaks within ten minutes and quickly dissipates.

The symptom groups can range from choking, chest pain, nausea, and trembling, and an intense fear of dying (often mimicking a heart attack) to heart palpitations, stomach cramps, crying or "going crazy", feelings of "fogginess" (derealization), feelings of detachment (depersonalization), and a feeling of impending danger.

The first type is the most common, but the second "milder" kind can be just as bad psychologically.

Add in muscle tightning and that's what I had. I don't know why people told me "oh no, that's not a panic attack"

Probably because you had symptoms that not a lot of people get. I for one get more of the psychological ones than the physical.

While I don't think I've ever had a full blown panic attack ("fight or flight feeling", sweating, dizzyness, rapid heartbeat, feeling that one is going to DIE if one doesn't leave the [insert source of anxiety here] immediately, etc) I've come damn close but I think it's due to sensory overload (er, I don't like crowds. At all.) and being unable to focus/block out every little thing at once. While I don't feel like I'm going to keel over & die, it IS one shitty-ass way to feel XD

Yeah, I never got the choking or chest pains, but I've definitely had the fear that I was either going to die, or that something very very bad was going to happen to me if I stayed where I was.

This was at work, too. And my shift hadn't even started yet.

Being someone who enjoys a good trainwreck like any good F_Wer, I of course had to go download said AMV.

I don't think I've actually laughed out loud at an AMV like this since Ninja of the Night 1 and 2.
