A break in the endless stream of Harry Potter coming our way this week? We should be so lucky! But at least this one is about one mostly ignored character and the movies, and serves as a nice change of pace...

 

We finally see the first picture of Katie Leung as Cho Chang from the upcoming Goblet of Fire movie... and the fine net denizens of OhNoTheyDidnt LJ community get to demonstrate their maturity, willingness to believe all "chinks" look alike and deep loathing of anyone who gets to peck THEIR Daniel Radcliffe-- all in one handy, 6-page wank!

The funny thing about HP casting people is that they make the not-quite-hot people hot (Wood!, Krum, Draco, Hermione) and the hot people not-so-hot (Cedric, Fleur, Lockhart).

I read in one of the comments that 'there is no way a white girl is called Lavender Brown.'

I'm from Scotland, and for me 'Brown' is a really common surname, and most of the people I know with that surname are white. Including the Chancellor of the Exchequer, Gordon Brown. Am I just totally out of touch with multi-cultural society? (yes, I probably am. I live in the north of Scotland after all, where almost everyone is white. And you can't get sushi anywhere O_o)

Does that mean that the mysterious black kid in PoA who kept getting lines was actually Lavender? Although I thought that was a boy, but my memory fails me a bit...

Awww...I think Cho is cute! Krum is waaaaay too hot (not that I'm complaining, because, well, hotness) but I don't see the problems with Cho. She's supposed to look like a teenager.
