Dear God in Heaven, just when you think that the Harry Potter Fandom could not get any worse... they manage to top themselves by going above and beyond the call of duty and slagging not just others within Fandom-- but people who are only peripherally connected to it. Katie Leung (whom some of you might recognize from last week's wank as the actress who is playing Cho Chang in the upcoming HP movies) has apparently been inudated with racist hate mail against her whole family for having the gall to play a character who gets into a romantic sub-plot with Daniel Radcliffe.

HP Fandom... can we just crown it as the craziest fucking fandom of all time and call it a night?

That's sickening. I remember one hate site starting up right after she was chosen for the role, but that one was just stupid and pathetic, not racist. I was hoping it would stop there. This is really vile.

I don't even understand what they're jealous about. It's not like they were going to meet him and snog him. And this is just acting!!! (Not that the people insanely jealous of real-life girlfriends make any more sense.) I used to joke around about being jealous of stars' costars and girlfriends but I was joking!

Katie Leung is a lovely girl and a lucky actress to have landed the role. This should be a fun, celebratory time. It's a shame there are some people out there with no sense of perspective or impulse control. How awful for her.

On a different note, I've seen fans commenting on HP sites about hating Katie, but I've only seen one hate site (and it was a long time ago). Does anyone know which hate sites are this article referring to? As of now, the article looks as if sensationalising on the hate.

And where does it say in the article about hate mail? I only see they mention websites.

First of all...Daniel Radcliffe looks like a falcon - like a FUCKING BIRD!!! I got no beef with the kid but c'mon now y'all, have some perspective. (ps. they're just fictional movies and books. pps. fictional = NOT FUCKING REAL)

Secondly, if any crazy bitches pull this shit with whomever is picked as miss Lavender Brown for the HBP movie (sorry if I just spoiled it for anyone - get over it if I did) I will personally track them down and bitchslap their punk ass for making my fandom (I think Rupert's adorable) look like these crazy bitches and hoes. The promise has been made. Consider it an unbreakable vow you psychotic inbreds.

Thirdly, why are bitches so crazy? Is it just me or is this like, incredibly, worse than ever, outta control crazy bitches up in here with HP lately? Or is it always like this and I never noticed?

Lastly, how many death threats towards herself, this actress, and the overall hatred of certain characters by certain ships (granted, a lot of em' are sane, I'm sure, I speak of the crazies at the moment) will it take before JKR's like "hode up - this has just gotten waaaay outta control now - no Harry Potter books for you!", ala the soup nazi of seinfeld, and just like, takes some serious action to try to get everyone to chill the fuck out?

If I were her, I'd take my damn good time with that last book and wait til every last person has gotten the fuck over their 'crazier than a shithouse rat' issues with the ships and all, and maaaybe then let it get published...

and I think it's only a matter of time til the fanfiction takes a serious turn towards the land of "JKR bans you" ville. I'll volunteer right now to drive the bus o'crazies there myself...They fucking put her face on porno stuff and put it up on the internet? What a bunch of deranged assholes!

Hmm, the most wank on the actual LJ link, though, is the weird fat-hate that comes spewing out every once in a while. Surprising, since sitting-at-computer =/= exercise: I would guess that the average weight of the commenters was ... above average.

If they've never seen crazy skinny girls screeching at celebs (along with the chubbier ones), then they don't get out that much either. Or, hmm, watch TV. Or see photos.
