Elitism No Jutsu!
Thanks to a mousy.

With Naruto going to be appearing on Toonami, YTV, and products in Hot Topic soon, there's bound to be plenty of wank. On the chuunin community, ino_ helpfully explains the Naruto fandom generations.

http://www.livejournal.com/community/chuunin/1382246.html

Depending on when you began watching it or reading the manga.

People who started before it was in America, as in when it was in manga format or when the anime first started = First Generation.

People who came in halfway through the anime or when the manga came to America, say.. a year or two after it came out. = Second Generation.

People who started watching it around episode say.. 100 or so, this group is many made up of two groups.

- People who are actually smart and were only late on the fandom because someone showed it to them or they found it after trying to not watch it a while and found it is actually good.

and the people we like to call .. Narutards.

- People who only watch it because it's 'popular' and because it's something everyone else is doing so they want to be in with the crowd.

That is third generation-- as you see that wave of fans .. varies. From the respectably late fan, to the idiotic - OMGITSPOPULAR fan.

Now comes.. fourth generation..*shudder*

Once again we have the late bloomers .. but we have a lot more idiots added to the fandom. The ones who will only watch it because it's dubbed in America and on Cartoon Network. These are the type of people that will most likely flood our communities and piss off a lot of the first two and maybe third generation.

It varies in how long you've been watching, and how sane you are I suppose.

It doesn't take long for people to call out the elitism. But as the mousy on wank_report sums it up: "But they were meant to be HELPFUUUUL!"
