FMA wank - revisited
If you were browsing f_wank earlier today, you may have seen the brief wank posted by jewishninja before he bahleeted it. Of course, nothing stays gone forever on the intarwebs.

The following was sent to me by a friend of mine, who summarised the whole thing on her LJ for the benefit of the Mildly Bewildered. The only changes I have made have been to take out the quotes from friends-locked personal journals and merely summarise them, instead. If that's still inappropiate, let me know and I'll edit this post further, but for now:


So, last night, mother (formerly crucifymylove), one of the moderators of fm_alchemist apparently got bored and a plan formed in her mind. In a post on her (friends-locked) LJ, she outlined the plan: Someone would make a post to the comm stating that a chat with Fullmetal Alchemist dub VAs (Vic or Travis) was to occur later that evening. mother wanted to see how many people would stay up to see the dub actors. When people finally put two and two together that it wasn't true, she planned to delete the post to hide the evidence and claim it never happened. Or, perhaps people could make fake screennames and pretend to be the VAs and see how many people they could fool. A bunch of people jumped on the plan.

One of mother's friends, _kilana, then proceeded to make this post on fm_alchemist:

I got wind tonight, that a few of the VAs are suppose to be doing an AIM chat tonight. I think Vic and Travis? I was told the room is suppose to be called 'FMAVOICE' and that one of the members of this comm is organizing it.

I hope it's true - I'll see you all tonight, if you're going. :) They never said what time, exactly. I only heard about it half an hour ago. ^____^;

They did get someone to imitate Vic, but poorly. And of course, note the username that finally lets everyone know it was a prank:

That is, of course, mother's AIM name, who then proceeded to go back to her LJ and crow about it.

Now, that wouldn't have been so bad if it had just ended there, I guess. It's just her being an asshat, what else is new?

But then there is an edit to this triumphant post, in which mother says that she's extending the prank and having one of her friends get a troll account and make an extremely mind-numbingly stupid post to fm_alchemist.

This, of course, irritated a great number of people and a lively "wanking" session started, with an anonymous running around "creatively" insulting people, people begging for the post to be deleted and naruto (formerly arex_kun) and mother playing the sympathetic mods who allow the post to stay so the perpetrator can be caught.

Yeah, pretty heinous, mother tried to pretend she wasn't at all involved in the plot, never mind the fact that it was her username that was in the AIM chat. YAY MODZ!!!111!!!

Unfortunately, I don't have all the comments saved, however, the infamous Jesus-cannibalism thing is preserved here.

Full Metal Alchemist Wankings

Now, if you've been on the Internet long enough, then you would know not to believe everything that comes along. For some people, that's harder than others. Like these fangirls.

Apparently, there was a post that said there was going to be a chat on AIM for the voice actors of Full Metal Alchemist. It seemed real enough, with a chatroom mod (FMAVoiceMod) and everything. The chat seems to go on forever without a voice actor (Vic?) until one shows up. Questions get asked and then, suddenly, someone says, "This isn't the real Vic." Oh noes.

Everything is chaos! People start whining ("how cruel!"), people start crying ("What?!?"), and it is all hell from here! Suddenly, someone shouts, "YOU'VE BEEN PUNK'D!!!"

All of a sudden, it gets transferred to LJ. holly_san makes a post in fm_alchemist, whining. ("MY LIFE HAS ENDED!") And what's this? A troll, perhaps? People try to calm her down, but she refuses. holly_san gets fiesty and begins to lash out.

Note the username that posted this wank. It's a varient of "jewishshinobi," which is one of naruto's AIM name.

It's pretty obvious by this point to many people that the mods set this whole thing up. People call naruto on the fact that that's his journalfen name that posted the wank, and he starts claiming the troll stole it and posted it herself, as does the troll. Much bullshitting ensues.

People start commenting anonymously on F_W, calling naruto on it there too, but several of these posts get deleted, presumably to cover up.

You gotta be pretty pathetic to have to make your own wank and post it there YOURSELF. Isn't that what i_wank is for?

mother heads back to her LJ and crows some more about the fabulous wank they gifted to the community.

She then makes another post bitching about how someone ELSE tried to wank the community, but she deleted it right away because she found it annoying.

Then, she wanders back over to fm_alchemist and tries to pretend to be the good mod again. She deletes the posts involved in the wank and then posts this message:

Just letting you all know that I deleted all the wank entries, including the one stating about us on f_w. It turns out the same troll got ahold of one of our journalfen names, and reported their own wank. Nice. It was fun while it lasted? At least i know this comm gets a huge comment count.

I now give everyone permission to post pictures of penises, or something. Go crazy. I'm going to bed.

[edit]: I'd also like to add that; anyone who accused one of our mods of being part of any of this journalfen/posting tripe, should rethink that accusation. This is not a place for blame, alright? <3 you guys, so.

And finally, after the fact, mother went back and deleted every post pertaining to the wank, including the ones in her own LJ, stating that she wants the entire thing to be forgotten about.
