Hey, another FMA wank! Well, not really. Just kidding.
Greg Ayres is a voice actor for ADV, and does a character in FMA... I think...I lied-- this has nothing to do with FMA whatsoever, but it's still wank! But this isn't about mere anime! No, in this case, Fandom really does Wank.
In the Greg Ayres fan community, a mysterious person named Melonice (journal has now been deleted) introduces herself. All is normal and ducky, even when Melonice makes another post that seems to overstate the obvious point that Greg Ayres is a Man, not a God amongst men (well, no shit). No one seems ruffled by this somewhat patronizing post, but...

...apparently Melonice was someone Greg knew all along, a close personal friend, and had been making nasty comments about his fans in locked LJ entries. This is a bit confusing (sorry, I know I promised to stop with the Confuso-Wanks) but whatever Melonice was saying in locked entries was enough to make Greg come to the defense of the rest of his fans. Greg doesn't say Melonice's Seekrit Identity, nor what Melonice said that made him so angry, so those details will be lost to history, I guess.

On his own LJ, Greg summarizes the situation somewhat more succinctly.

Er... checking his IMDB page, Greg Ayres has nothing to do with FMA.

He is in Full Metal Panic though... perhaps that was the source of the confusion?

Oh, you know, I think that's it! I got the titles corn-flated in my head.

I really shouldn't post wanks before I have at least two cups of coffee. -_- No wonder my reports are always so confusing.

His website says he does some voicework for FMA (there at the bottom, in teeny, tiny type,) but it doesn't appear to be what he's famous for.

Hmm.. oddness. Maybe IMDB's just being slow, or maybe he was uncredited.

I'm guessing he was uncredited, since he doesn't even name which character the dub was for. *shrugs* Regardless, FMA's definitely not his bread and butter.

Greg Ayres was awesome at AX. He got up on stage at the opening ceremonies and was all fanboy. It was great.

Um. I got nothing else.

Word. He was a great guest at Ikasucon, I can only speak highly of his conduct and personability. We were lucky to have him. ^_^

Ah ... he's going to be at AnimeFest this year. I remember he was at the art auction last year and that he liked to get Goku stuff - valted three chairs to ask where I got my Sanzo t-shirt because he wanted a Goku one.

*starts plotting a really spiffy fanart of Goku to put in the art show*

I met him at AMA this year and thought he was incredibly nice to sign so many autographs for the fans that caught up with him.
But I dunno, he might be more than human if he can stand Richmond heat.

He's from Houston, TX. Here you either learn to handle heat or you melt.

He can stand it because he's from Richmond, originally. He moved to Houston after starting work for ADV.

Greg is awesome; he got so excited when I told him I was going to be cosplaying as Dougan from Requiem and wanted to get photos. ^_^
