HA, you wish you could get away!
Naturally, there is more H/Hr wankage, and from everyone's favourite Harmoanian, phoenixwriter. While I tried to make sense of what this person was saying, basically it was something about there not being a point in reading or even caring about anything related to book seven now that R/Hr and H/G are confirmed canon, correct? I know I must've read this wrong because half of this person's shit didn't make sense, but yes, full of the usual wank.

There was this:

HBP was supposed to make readers excited for book7 but for this the Horcrux's are a rather low reason also that Dumbledore is dead, we don't know how book7 will look alike at all. Harry don't want to get back at Hogwarts, with this in mind there aren't any predications and theories which have any likeness possible. The waiting for book7 will be one of the most uninteresting things we had in the past years in this Fandom. People were excited to get OotP in their hands, HBP just the same. Theories over theories and fanfictions were written and people were all due the 2 years willing and interest in this things.
Even the shipwars made several HP-sites more succesfully as they ever had been prev. OotP.

I had no idea no one was excited to see the final book and see how it ends? Just because H/Hr didn't happen we're not supposed to care anymore? The bitterness astounds me. Of course, read through the comments there at your discretion.

I feel like I'm the only person in the world that hasn't read book 6. I tried, I really did, but I only got a bit into chapter 2 and gave up. D:

The faster they get out of hp fandom, the better!

If they were solely reading the books for romance, they were bound to be disappointed.

Cry me a fucking river bitches.

Who cares if "fandom is fractured" forever? Boohoo. It's only the extremist het-shipper that have got their knickers in a twist. Let's hear it for all the sane people in HP fandom.

On another note, Who is the person who does magic in 'desperate circumstances'? What will be the circumstances?
Petunia? To save Harry? Anyone...

'Cause, you know, it's not like anyone's wondering what the remaining Horcruxes are, if Regulus is R.A.B., whether or not Snape is good and how the final battle will go.

No, they obviously don't care about any of that ... Without H/Hr, HP is clearly boring.

WAAAAAHNGST l'fandom c'est moi! I the fandom don't care about HBP now it will die a slow and painful death or at least I hope so

Well, it's okay if phoenixwriter's not interested in R.A.B. and the locket that can't be opened, about the duality of Snape, about the Gaunts and how it will play concerning Rowling's theme of "choice, not blood", about whether Dumbledore really planned to die, about the Malfoys and how they're written in a more sympathetic light, about what would happen to Harry once the Evans protection wore off, about whether it was Severus or Remus who loved Lily, about how Fred and George would react to the knowledge that their inventions have played a part in killing Dumbledore, about where Ollivander's loyalty lies, or even about pointing out JKR's plotholes and pitfalls in both Death Eaters' and Order of the Phoenix's strategies.

Not to mention GoF will be out in a few months, with more reviews to make, more screencaps to iconify, more on-screen chemistry (or lack of) to squee /gloat/complain about, more book differences to rant about, more "it's not how I imagine it" posts and more actor worship. And after the movie hype dies down, JKR will have dropped hints on the 7th book in her site, which leads to more speculations.

If phoenixwriter doesn't want to be a part of that, well... doubt she'll be sorely missed.

When will all this H/Hr sinking wank stop? We were wrong. That doesn't mean that the entire fandom will be less enthusiastic about book 7 and not theorize. I disliked the book and I've spent a lot of time discussing the book with others and what could happen in book 7. There is still plenty of stuff to theorize and discuss. But it's posts like this one (and the others that have been showcased here) and some of the comments that have kept me from posting my thoughts about HBP. Shipping is not the main focus of the series and some people on both sides seem to be forgetting that. It's possible to have problems with the book that aren't shipping related even if your ship is sunk. A glaring continuity error in the book bugs me more than my ship sinking ever could. Just because I disliked the book doesn't mean everyone else did nor does it mean that I'll quit theorizing and discussing possibilities for book 7. Can my side get over itself already?

Of course this is just me, but I tend to overlook the wank that comes from people for whom English is obviously not their first language (that would be why you can't understand this person).

Does their lack of facility with English make them any less wanky? Well, no. But being that they aren't equipped to defend themselves adequately and are prone to misinterpretation, I tend to leave these folks be ;)

I know a few people who didn't like HBP, but it seems like the fandom is pleased with the book as a whole. While OotP seemed to have made fandom go into the dark ages, HBP seems to have revived the fandom(oldbies includied)and has generated a SHITLOAD of fanfiction, including *gasp* H/Hr.

After PW said this in Angua's journal:

As for my buddy Falcon, he is correct to say that Harry and Hermione were shown superior to the others in this books. Thats why people complained that Hermione couldn't do anything wrong in OotP.

I just kinda tuned her out. XD

Telling your readers that various theories and interpretations aren't valid or right is limiting the horicont of the very same readers fantasy but thats not how a book is supposed to be.

Horicont?

The only Horicont I can find in any online dictionaries is a town in Wisconsin.

I like new words, and I would like this one even better if I knew what it meant. Anyone know?

You know, if I was going to change anything about HBP, I'd just take out all the romance altogether, because I didn't give a shit at all. I've gone from being a Snape-shipper to actually genuinely hoping he's as asexual as some of the fans have always insisted. But yeah, I liked the book anyway. I can't see why this individual would insist there was nothing more to look foreward to now that Harry/Hermione had been "shot down". Apart from anything else, no ship is ever truly shot down! There's fics set ten or twenty years after the series ends (in which your favourite characters have had time to grow and change and realise that they're very well suited after all), there's the possibility of divorce or separation (not everyone has a happy and lasting marriage with someone they met aged eleven) and there's the old faithful "AU" and "PWP". I daresay Rowling will properly crucify your beloved ship in the last book, but that's going to take years to get to our shelves, you know. In the meantime, fill the gaping hole with as much fic as you please.
