lurgy thinks the new layout at
deleterius sucks, and requests that it be changed. The mod,
tviokh, refuses to do so. Both wank.
As regular posters will know, Tviokh only recently installed the current template for this site. Sadly, the text was microscopic and unreadable, a fact aggravated by the low contrast between page elements. So, missing my daily fix, I went along to Tviokh’s LJ to make the following request.
Lurgy:
Um... please can we have Deleterius back the way it was? I can hardly read a thing on screen with the new style. And there doesn't seem to be any way to add comments...?
To which I was stunned to receive this:
Tviokh:
Can't be arsed.
I have no issues navigating, and can read it just peachy with my glasses on.
Without my glasses, I don't read much of anything.
Somewhat stung, I returned with:
Lurgy:
So... not so much a canon Nazi as a Nazi, period?
And was immensely amused to find this in my inbox the next day:
Tviokh:
Nobody forces you to read and/or be a member there.
If you don't like it, watch me sit here and not care.
So I made the irresistible observation:
Lurgy:
ROTFL You sound just like a Suethor sock puppet!
And when I got back from the weekend, I found TWO lovely replies. Sadly I was unable to respond because, in line with the maturity level exhibited thus far, milady had excluded me from making posts in her journal:

Good for me.
My community and out of nearly 2000 people less than 25 have complained.
Majority wins.
Don't like it? *waves*
One less Deleterius member isn't going to make me cry.
In fact, I think a bunch of people tried that "You won't cater to my every whim so I'm leaving!" tantrum over an icon.
Most of them have since reapplied for membership, and the community did not (as they swore it would) lose all of its members and turn into a wasteland.

Mm, and in case you've been to busy trying to be snarky to actually go and look, I did raise the font size a bit and switched comment views back to the old style.
There's nothing wrong with the colors; not sure what messed up sort of monitor you have, but I've looked at it in IE, Firefox, Mozilla, Safari, and Netscape on Win2k, Windows 2003 Server, Redhat, SuSE, OSX, and Win98 and have no need to highlight to see anything.
Furthermore, finding comment links is as difficult as finding the little linkie that says "SPORK"; if you can't find that, you need to just...go away before my head explodes.
Of course, it's much more fun to come over here and irritate me in my personal LJ with failed attempts at wit, isn't it?
Quite surprised, and somewhat impressed to discover I can still post in Deleterius. However, I imagine that’s about to change any day now, so let me have my final say:

Well yes, but out of nearly 2000 members, only about 50 ever post. So if less than 25 complained (so that would be 24, would it?), that could actually amount to around 40% of your active membership.
I've been fascinated by your attitude throughout. I made a perfectly polite request, and you have been as objectionably bitchy as possible in return. Why? The argument that "I like it so I don't care who doesn't" belongs to a ten-year old, not, as I assume, a woman somewhere in her thirties. And it is so ironic that you who founded this community should resort to such an argument when it's one of the things suethors say which makes us laugh most.
And why don't you care about the opinion of one of your members? It said on your page that this was a paid-for community, so you'd prefer people to join rather than simply breeze through as an anonymous poster... that would seems the opposite of this "I've got nearly 2000 members so fuck you" argument your giving me here.
As for your pathological rudeness... the only comment which really comes to mind is, "beware lest you become the thing you hate".

Actually I’ve been busy with my life. Deleterius is my aid to sanity when I’m doing something boring at work. So no, I didn’t notice you’d changed the font size until today. What inspired that sudden U-turn? Did the other 26 people who actually use your site complain as well? And yes, now it’s rendered in a font size which is actually visible, the “spork” link is fine.
I’ve got 1,600+ members on the Snape list I moderate, and while I’ve booted loads of them off (with, I confess, the same logic of “there’s plenty left” ;> ) I’ve never needed – or wanted, for that matter – to be gratuitously nasty to any of them. Maybe you should rethink your hatred of James and Sirius. The elitist who shits on someone, without any provocation, just because she can, has far more in common with the mindless bully than she does with the quiet loner forced by circumstance and naivety down a path he later comes to regret.
Wish I'd had time to do an actual spork report myself at some point, but it's finding the time. But I have immensely enjoyed this community, so best wishes to everyone - even Tviokh ;>
So long, and thanks for all the sporks.
