I was just re-reading "Dave Barry's Book of Bad Songs" last night, and strangely enough, Hellion sounds exactly like all the people who wrote in being hyper-defensive of "MacArthur Park": "Blah blah symbolism blah you ignorant fool blah blah cake metaphor blah I'm a pretentious twat."

I mean hey, if you like the song, great. But it doesn't mean you're smarter than the rest of us. It means that you, like the rest of us, have at least one horrible song that you're overly fond of.

Mine is "Brandy (You're a Fine Girl)." "MacArthur Park", on the other hand, makes me want to stab my ears with a pen like that girl in "Phone" who kept getting phone calls from her murdered friend.
