Ah, EWIVVG's guest book is a neverending source for entertainment.

The funny thing is, while i have mostly been on the fence on the whole Domlijah deal, i have lately been swinging more towards them being (or at least having had been) a couple. I mean i'm never gonna be on the DL wacko level, but i've seen pictures lately that really kind of influence my train of thought on this. I saw one on LJ of some of the cast members all seated around a sofa and Dom and Elijah were seated seperately, pressed up against each other, arms around each other in an embrace. It REALLY looked like a couple pose. It was actually rather lovely.

	I don't think most fandom_wankers have any problem believing they could be a couple. I think it's probably true too. It's the whole refusal to even consider the alternatives, belief in some vast pr conspiracy to closet them instead of belief that it's their own choice, and life hinging upon the fact that they are a couple that is wankish. I think it's unlikely - can't get over Ian McKellen's extended DVD comment - but it's definitely not believing they could be a couple that's insane. It's absolutely possible. It's just the psychotic level of absolute belief based on purely circumstantial evidence, and the use of ever-more-convoluted conspiracy theories to explain away everything that doesn't fit their world view.

I said this in my LJ a few days ago, and I'm repeating it here because I can't be bothered to be original :-):

And honestly? If they are gay and a couple, and hiding it despite desperately wanting to come out because of evil PR people and fear for their careers, I'd think a lot less of both of them. Wanting to keep your private life private I can absolutely understand, and respect. If they're madly in love and out to all their friends and family, but have no desire to become the tabloid story of the month, more power to them. But if they desperately want their fans to know, to the point that they're trolling message boards and sending secret coded messages, but are too chickenshit to come out because of their big bad PR people, they deserve what they're getting. They're adults. They're professionals. If they let handlers control every detail of their lives, if they kiss people they can't stand on their handlers' say so, if they pretend they're not lovers, these are choices they're making. They're not children, and they're not slaves, and they're not being kept in cages and only let out when PR wants them to dance. They can - and do - make their own choices, and if they choose to let PR 'victimize' them, I say again, they deserve what they get.
