The L Word Vidding Wank
In the LJ community vidding, charmax posts about how Toni of the website Hypervision Video is posting videos without the creator's permission, and chopping up other people's vids and calling them her own. Charmax e-mails Toni, and Toni responds with:
"VIIDDERS DO NOT SEEK PERMISSION FROM FILM STUDIOS, TELEVISION NETWORKS, OR THE ACTORS FEATURED IN THEIR VIDEOS,yet they demand it. TO THIS I GIVE A RESOUNDING "GIVE ME A BREAK"."
Charmax posts again asking other vidders to back her up by e-mailing Toni and telling her to cut it out.
Astartexx has an e-mail exchange with Toni that she posts here. Highlights include:
"If you want me to remove anything from my site send me a donation of $25.00 U.S. Dollars. Use the PayPal button available on the Filmwork page. Other than that leave me the hell alone."
She also says she has received permission from Showtime to use L Word characters in her fanfic, and that her fanfic is copyrighted.
As for her vids:
"I was only going to show mine when I finsh getting my Master's degree this semester. DO YOU HAVE A MASTER'S DEGREE? I don't think you do the way you arer placing so much effort in this bullshit."
Astartexx suggests she is receiving her Master's Degree in Stupidity.
Toni, of course, has many Hollywood connections and a scary internet lawyer:
"I have been contacted by several people in the entertainment industry and I also have connections. Now since you want to harrass me, and since my partner is an attorney, and since I have been contacted already about the right to make videos and wether it is copyright infringement. I tell you what I am going to do. I will contact the studios in Hollywood that I am in touch with and inform thrm about how Veronica mars, Xena, Alias, and other shows are being infringed upon by Bronze Ambition and websites affiliate with Charmax. ok IS THAT FAIR? That is what I will do."
Toward the end of the page:
"I used to work with retard people as a mental health counselor, so yes I understand your insane ineffective ramblings but you still need to learn English."
Toni has also put up a FAQ page where she claims she is being censored and posts the e-mail addresses of the people who are "harassing" her.
UPDATE: Bloodypoetry e-mails Toni as well, and she replies with such gems as:
NO ONE pays attention to these types of rules. There is nothing I can do about that. That's why I had the story (minus the L Word characters COPYRIGHTED!)
You are now blocked from sending me email and have been listed on my site as a person who opposes freedom of expression.
