I know that this is nothing particularly new or exciting or big, but... damn, what is it doing in Crispin Glover fandom?

Oh, right. It's because the rumor mill spit out his name as a possibility to play the Joker in an upcoming Batman movie. Unfortunately, a user named INVINCIBLE_NINJA has taken umbrage with this particular casting possibility. And he posts about his opinions. A lot. Aggressively. His preferred Joker is Adrien Brody, you see, and he doesn't seem to be able to keep his mouth shut about it. No matter where he goes. But he's also a good citizen and participates in other users' inflammatory threads.

But then, of course, he just has to post his opinion to the Crispin board. Beware the abuse of the capslock of rage ahead.

TO HELL with this LOSER!! CAST ADRIEN BRODY as 'The Joker'!!!!

"CRISPY FISH' CANNOT and WILL NOT ever be taken seriously!!

The roles he chooses to star in depict him as a jackass.

If he were to be cast as the Joker, it would be 1997(Batman & Robin) ALL OVER AGIAN!

ADRIEN BRODY IS THE JOKER!!!

If YOU support this notion, PLEASE alter your quote to reflect your support like this:

BALE-BRODY
Batman: Haunted Knight
Summer 2008

The comments range from agreement to disagreement to trolling to embarrassing troll-baiting and slightly scary Crispin fangirling. Sigh. Oh, and with a bonus "expert" opinion on the quality of Brody's acting:

As an actress, I am going to say that Adrien Brody is NOT as good of an actor as Crispin Glover. With that said, the part of the Joker does not require excellent acting prowess.

I'm very sorry that you're unable to grasp that which makes acting from good (Brody) to great (Glover). Just because Crispin Glover does not select mainstream roles in big summer blockbusters does not mean he is any less of an actor than Adrien Brody...who is very good. I am a big Brody fan, truth be told. Crispin Glover, however, is a character actor. Character actors do not stoop to the level of taking the easy roles to get famous.

And what's so wrong with "Willard" anyway? What, it wasn't popular enough for you?

And YOU'RE calling CRISPIN GLOVER a loser? Someone needs a reality check.

The overall best response comes from starman5k:

Question: what do the producers of the new Batman films care as to what another group of e-losers have to say about their casting decisions? They could cast a blind cripple midget as Vicki Vale, and you fanboys would still scramble over each other to see it.

You want influence in casting on a film? Make your own.

Naturally, I fully support any role that gets Crispin obscene amounts of money, with which he can go ahead and finish up his own movies.

Nope. Frankly, I don't know who they honestly expect to play the Joker successfully.

... also, I don't really give a damn.

Two things: Isn't the Joker supposed to be a jackass? Where can I get some fish-sticks? Cravingomg.

See, the thing with actors, they're like white boards. Draw any crazy shit on them, and erase for a whole new drawing. Well, that's the theory of good actors. The bad ones, they've got permanent marker all over them. If you throw fish-sticks at the white board, that's when things really get nutty.

Um, doesn't it? Although I don't have my IMdB actress credentials, I'd think that playing a character who is a homicidal maniac would take some skill. And playing a homicidal maniac who thinks that killing innocent people is the best joke ever would probably require a bit more skill.

As an actress, I am going to say that Adrien Brody is NOT as good of an actor as Crispin Glover.

What planet does she live on? I've never seen Glover play anyone other than himself. A critic once said of him in River's Edge: "It's the only film in history where Dennis Hopper gave the second weirdest performance. I barely consider him an actor; he's just a twitchy weirdo whose persona is interesting in a clinical kind of way.
