Ooo, Ooo, More AMV Wankage!
Locked thread or not, the splooge is so worth it.

SomeGen asks about the Top 10% list of AMVs being disorganized and/or abandoned or...something. It's hard to tell, since s/h/it insists on typing in barely comprehensible netspeak.

Other forumgoers politely explain the situation, that the Top 10% displays...well...the top-scored 10% of videos with more than 8 reviews, which is where we get this magical number of 401 from, since 4010 videos meet said review criterion. And that the list doesn't update very often because reviews are hard to come by. Because the Org are a bunch of lazy pizza-munching bastards.

SomeGen refuses to comprehend, and insists that said section be totally revamped to s/h/it's liking. People get understandably annoyed. SomeGen decides s/h/it'll go troll the Number One video, and people get rather pissed off. There's also pie in there somewhere. And things wank merrily along until Tsunami Jones takes away the lube.

Short, but hilarious. I wonder...had somebody explained everything to SomeGen in netspeak, would s/h/it have grasped it sooner?

1. The worst thing about Ed is that he's actually justifiably angsty. It's like blaming Michael Jackson for being white. Yet both have ridiculously huge fanbases.
2. OP: the netspeak isn't that bad. I recently had a fifteen minute arguement with my IM-junkie sister about why "ur" was wrong.

I don't think it's netspeak. It's either stupidspeak (as someone else has noted), or it's someone who doesn't speak English very well (and thus is inverting words so they make sense in his/her/its own language syntax).

Though that doesn't excuse the not-grasping of what are seemingly basic concepts.

I know. Especially when they wise up at the end and kinda-sorta move to the hero's side. Something a lot of players didn't realize: at the game's end, Rufus and Cloud had the same goal in mind. Albeit for completely different reasons.

That is why Rufus is great: he was redeemed without it being campy and melodramatic. Rufus was an excellent villain. So much better than Sephiroth, man.
