Okay, since CF is 'fandom' now, this is going here rather than It's small right now, but I'm willing to bet when I wake up tomorrow it's gonna be huge. Why do I say that? Because we've got another CF person being irritating. It all starts at mock_the_stupid, where one pizza customer is being unnessacarily harsh to a little girl. There are many understandable comments, ranging from how mean the father was to parents pointing out that he might be under stress. That's until angelcarnivore pipes up with this: "IMHO- the kid is a complete brat... and I'm restraining myself from making personal comments other than that." When other posters point out that the kid is, y'know, three, she responds: "Price of a slice of pizza nowadays ranges anywhere from two dollars to two-seventy-five or more in Prospect Park (fucking yuppies) and whining to get something she probably never tried to eat ("omg, I knew that was gonna happen!") after bitching to go over someone's house (It doesn't even read to me like he was planning to take her to Aunt Dottie's, but that he's been browbeat into it and he just wants nothing more than five minutes of peace to eat a slice of pizza before going to his shrew-ish sister-in-law's -if we presume he is the father- to drop of Miss Must-Have-Her-Way. See... being indirectly pizza burned isn't mean. That's normal punishment at that age- it's called reaping one's just deserts. Actually, it's better than a normal punishment when you factor in the fact that all you guys are being incredibly "Oh save the poor sweet innocent child" and it's grating." Again, people point out the fact that the girl is THREE and was - gasp - acting like a typical three-year-old, and bratiness or not, no adult should treat a kid that way. But of course, they're just fawning over the kid, right? I dunno about you guys, but I didn't realize that being CF = having no sympathy for kids whatsoever and thinking getting burned is appropiate punishment. But then, maybe I'm sane.
