How dare you give to charity!
Some dude named Jack Thompson said that if someone made a very offensive game, he would donate a bunch of money to charity. Someone made it and he didn't do it. So the Penny Arcade guys stepped in and did it, earning them the ire of Thompson and the adoration of their fanbase.

Karmax believes this is WRONG, WRONG, WRONG! Because the Penny Arcade guys didn't give money out of the goodness of their hearts and you know what THEY FUCKING SUCK ANYWAY AND I HATE THEIR FUCKING COMIC!

And lo, the smackdown commences ... it can only get better, folks!

Thank you for your intrest in sticking your nose where it does not belong. I cannot tell you how much it pleases me to see so many people dedicated to having no life in order to try and act clever by sending trolls and spammers en masse to other places to help fuck up the internet.

Of course.. if Fandom Wank had any other reason for existing other than being a bunch of spammy, gutless, simple minded fools congregating to the same place, than people might take your community seriously in any way.
Of course what Fandom Wank lacks for having a real purpose that is centered on any kind of conscrutcive commentary, it makes up for in being absoutly pointless, and a great way for the scourge of the internet community (trolls and spammers) to effectivly help in making the internet experence suck for absoutly everybody.

What turned from a topic that was initially ruined becuase of spammers and trolls that already exist HERE, has been effectivly made into twice the train wreck since the F_W goon patrol started parading in on here to make it all worse. And in less than 10 minutes, no less.

Let it also be known that I have fully admitted that I am wrong about some of this post, and have even apologized to those that are deserving of an apology and who do not fail at life.
I am clearly not a wank, becuase I have honestly been mistaken about some of my information, and I do appreciate a good conversation without the added displeasure of someone else just trying to be a dick about something.
I am a person who can admit when they are wrong (which I WAS), but that dosn't seem to matter when a gutless community like F_W can go an intrude where they do not belong.

After posting this, I have since been notified that the comic in question HAS given out charities before. This is simply a fact I was not aware of and have apologized for.
If anyone still thinks I am a "wank" for expressing my own opinions and then honestly being apologetic towards NON-assholes for my mistake, and the things I didn't know.

Then again... if you still think someone is a wank for expressing their own opions, than take a look at yourself, first.

Well.. wonderful. THe truly overrated comic Penny Arcade and it's legons of brainwashed rabid fanboys.. (you know, the types that throw the link up to their comic all the time on 20 million message boards becuase it's the "GREATEST WEBCOMIC EVAR!!!!") ...are all cheering them on and calling them "hereos to the gaming industry" for provoking one stupid, pathetic idiot by the name of Jack Thompson.

Here's the rundown for those, not in the loop:

Jack Thompson creates an idea for a video game called "A Modest Video Game Proposal". It involves some Take-Two employees and a vengeful father after videogamers kill the rest of his family. He offers to donate $10^4 to charity if such a game is made.

A GTA:SA mod team called the Fighting Hellfish makes a mod that accomplishes exactly that.

Penny Arcade puts it on their website and notifies JT.

Jack refuses to pay, suddenly claiming it was a joke.
Yes... a joke which a "professional" like him was enough of a moron to propose in the first place, without claiming at that time that it was a joke.

Penny Arcade donates the $10^4 to the Entertainment Software Association Foundation in Jack Thompson's name.

Thompson demands that they take it back.

They refuse.

Thompson calls the Seattle Police Department to arrest the Penny Arcade crew in claims that they've been harassing him. He gives the wrong URL to their website.
One of Thompson's major supporters, on top of everything else has asked that he stop pretending to be assosiated with them.




Now... ok. Jack Thompson is a total douche, but, as amusing as this may be at first, I still fail to see why Penny Arcade are being lauded as heroes for this bullshit.

Their comic is terribly overrated and not really funny at all. It tries to be sarcastic and witty, but it completly leaves out the witty part.

And sarcasm without wit is just crap. Hence, I feel that Penny Arcade is crap.
It seems to be like Megatokyo. One of those comics that only gets more popular than other, more deserving webcomics becuase it panders to a fanbase, and alternatly praises itself and mocks itself.
Also.. corporate whoring and firing off impassioned corporate based rants about said fanbase to attract sponsors sure dosn't have anything to do with it's undeserved popularity, does it?

Too many webcomics are thrown together by people with a little bit of talent in order to whore it into something to make a buck off of, and to attact legons of brainwashed fans so that they can never be wrong.

Penny Arcade, though is douchy just becuase it seems to be all about insuling gamers through the use of horribly mocking and damaging stereotypes, causing a general population which already mislabels gamers to even FURTHER mislabel them as being "losers".
Well.. that and G4. They are good at making gamers look like morons, as well.

But back to webcomics. The other half of webcomicsout there are poorly drawn, ill-concieved, miserably unoriginal peices of crap that nobody likes, and also MUST attract sponsors, and braindead fanbases, or face the threat of extinction if they don't.

.02% of webcomics are any good at all. These are typically the unsung hereos of the webcartooning industry, whose artists pour their heart and exihbit REAL talent in their comics without latching onto a faceless, corporate whorehole of shit like Keenspace and Keenspot, or by by the above mentioned shameless pandering to advertisers.
The comic artists with talent that stick to their guns week in and week out, and trying to attract some faithful readers by using the merits of the comic and the work put into it, alone.

...but back to the point.

This isn't some case of "oh great! Video gamers to the rescue!"
For one thing, the webcomic of Penny Arcade is terribly self depreciating, so I cannot take this seriously. They are only attempting to be wiseases in order to look like heroes to the same comminity of fans they potray as idiots.

Jack Thompson is a douche and he would have publically assraped himself like this without or without the help of Penny Arcade.
I fail to see how corporate whores like them are fighting the system by being wiseasses to a man who is already a delusional self-parody in danger of exploding on his own.

It's crappy, petty internet drama brought on by mixing the worlds of crappy ass webcomics, and dumbass politicians.

And as for me.. this all results in me just being really annoyed that Penny Arcade and their crappy ass comic are already having lavish heaps of praise tossed upon them by their legons of brainwashed fanboys, just becuase they made an obvious idiot look like an idiot.

Big whoop. I can do the same thing. And in fact, I think I just did.
