The O.C. is a somewhat silly high-school soap drama on FOX. theoc_slash is an lj community for people who want to post and read slashfic based on the show. Recently, torchthisnow, who is a mod, made a post concerning the status of the community:

Jesus Christ. If people are going to be making posts bitching about this community and why it's gone downhill, okay, I'll tell you why it's gone downhill:

This is a SLASH FIC community. That means that the things you post here are:

1. Fics.
2. Fic challenges, which is something like "Ryan and Seth take a road trip. Must include banter about Thelma and Louise, and Pez." Or something like this
3. Fic announcements - ie, ficathons, fic awards, etc.
4. Other things of a slashy nature - ie, manips, music videos, etc.

It's not for people's half-assed "won't someone please please write me this story?" posts. That's not a challenge. If there's a fic you want that badly, written that specifically, write it yourself.

All is well, until aflowerinrain comments with "Still, sometimes I wonder if half the people who post here are absolutely blackout drunk, or stuck in the fourth grade, or desperately need to see some kind of sex therapist.", torchthisnow (allegedly) jokingly agrees, and all hell breaks loose.
