This wank brought me back to my days in the Slayers fandom. In winryhaters community, peach_jello asks why they hate Winry from FMA so much. Punk_wings decides to tell her and everything goes downhill from there.

We all know. Adn i thought one day...if i kill winry, who will ed go ga ga over now? Then i thought...PSIREN! DIE! Shes the only charater I hate MORE than Winry rockbell. >_< Grrrrr... *jealous* I wanted ed top touch my boobs.... XD Lol. yeah. So there is my stupid resons.

I don't understand today's teenage girls. What happened to wishing real non-animated 3D flesh-and-blood human rockstars or actors ~~most of which are taller than Ed~~ would touch your breasts?

Probably not the same for everyone, but in my case, fictional characters (including those portrayed by actors) have generally been more appealing 'cause . . . well, you know them. Better than you know your best friends, in many cases. You know about their dead mother, you know their hot-button issues, you know what makes them tick. You KNOW that they're a decent person--or, if they're not, whatever it is that they are.

Plus, in the case of animated characters, it's ~~less creepy~~ easier to draw them in fanservicey ways. And, you know, probably a fair bit more acceptable.

. . . in any case, let's be honest--Ed's not any less likely to touch my boobs than, say, Han Solo--or even Harrison Ford. :P So I don't see a problem. >_>

(Well, besides the fact that Ed is not strictly my bag. But anyway.)

	Hey, what are you on about? Hating a character is a perfectly valid hobby. For instance, whenever people ask me what I enjoy doing on my spare time, I answer, "I think of painful ways to kill Spike from Buffy the Vampire Slayer." I can see where people might feel the need to rant with like-minded people, particularly if everytime they say, "I don't like Character X," the response they get is something along the lines of "OMG, dun bee a hater!"

On the other hand, I don't really see many possibilities for discussion. I mean, once you've said, "God, I hate Character X!" there's not all that much to say, is there?

	T'ain't just you, that's for sure. I mean, hell, I personally like Winry in the manga and not in the anime -- but I don't really go parading it around or even mention it unless asked directly. 	I like Winry too. In fact, there really isn't a shonen girl I dislike after reading a title consistantly, so I'm confused by all the hate for some of them.
