Previous Entry  Add to memories!  Tell a Friend!  Next Entry
And he is only a month old.
Back story: K-Fed knocked up Britney Spears. Since he already sold pictures of the engagement, wedding, and two prior children, everyone assumed little SPF's appearance on the cover of People is just a matter of time. Someone sent Matt, the webmaster of tangiblebrit.com, thumbnails of pictures, claiming People are going to publish it next week. And then:

PRIVACY CRAVER: Britney Spears changed her mind about letting the world see her baby. The pop tart posed for studio shots with her new tot, Sean Preston Spears Federline, and hubby Kevin Federline last week in L.A. The pictures by Mark Liddel were supposed to go to People magazine for millions — but the next day, Spears "started freaking out," our insider said. "She started crying that she was selling out her baby and couldn't give up the pictures." A People rep said, "We have not purchased nor paid for any photos of Britney this week."

On Friday afternoon (October 21st), Jive Records issued a press release to the Associated Press stating that the pictures of Britney with her baby that were taken on a private shoot and later posted on at least two fansites had been 'stolen' and were 'unauthorized'. Due to the severity and escalation of this issue, many Britney sites that featured the picture resorted to either suspending or shutting down their sites completely in fear of lawsuits.
The press release said:

'A number of photographs of Britney Spears, her husband Kevin Federline and their infant son, which had been taken in a private photo shoot, were recently stolen or otherwise unlawfully taken and may be offered to the media and others by the wrongdoers or their agents, although they have no right, license or other legal authority to do so. Anyone who publishes, sells or otherwise exploits any of these images in any way will be subject to liability and damages for willful infringement of copyright, and will be liable for invasion of privacy of Ms. Spears, Mr. Federline and their infant son, for unauthorized commercial use of the name and photographs of Ms. Spears, Mr. Federline and their son, and for wrongful conversion of the photographs.'

The 6-thumbnail photosheet depicting Britney with Sean Preston as well as a family portrait among other pictures was released and published on October 20th by a Britney Spears fansite not affiliated with World of Britney.com. We then proceeded to put those pictures on our site with a credit to the source.

We were all unaware of the apparent rumors that Britney Spears had pulled the plug on the People Weekly feature until later in the day Friday. All of us, as a joint Britney Spears unofficial community were therefore happy to share small pictures of that shoot with the fans, as it is very common for un-official sites to do just that and is one of the many purposes of a 'fan site'. We want everyone to understand that we absolutely adore Britney Spears and are all extremely excited about her new stage in life, and we would never willfully or purposely do anything that might affect her in a negative way.

In light of all of this, we would like to issue a formal apology from our end to Jive Records, Britney Spears, Kevin Federline, Sean Preston and anyone else affected by the release of the pictures by the unofficial fansite community. All the pictures that were originally posted, including links and traces have now been permanently removed from our website and all other Britney sites will be doing the same thing.

The webmaster of TangibleBrit.com which was the first outlet that featured the 6-thumbnail set has offered his apologies on his website, he says:

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

I am sorry to whomever I have offended. The images were sent to me in an email stating that they would appear in people magazine's next issue, the following week. I did not steal the images and have no connection with the stealing of the images. I do not know who the person that sent the images to me is, but I can say that they know who they are, and they know what they did was wrong, as did i. To Britney, Kevin, Sean, Jive Records, SONYBMG, and anyone else affected by this: I am deeply sorry for any pain I have caused you. The images will never be on this website again. I have strongly urged all of the websites in connection with the release of these images to remove them as soon as possible. I do not have the images in any size large than I posted on my website. The images, as of now, have been destroyed. As soon as I learned of Britney’s not selling the images at all and after I was contacted by various media companies asking me for the images (which I did not compy to), I immediately removed the images from the internet. This website will be down for ever how long it will take to have this serious wrong doing over with. Once again, Britney, I am deeply sorry and regret the fact that these images surfaced.

Matt - TangibleBrit.com

I strongly suggest that all websites and blogs that published the pictures from us immediately remove them to avoid receiving cease and desists in the upcoming days.

And it goes on: This pic stands for FREEDOM!

Free Image Hosting at www.ImageShack.us

I love this picture. It portrays such a sense of freedom. Thought I had to share it with ya. It's been a very, very interesting day today for sure. Just wanted to talk about the responses received to the article that was written by me earlier this morning. It's been mixed, most people have agreed though which is not surprising at all.

Someone pointed out to me that Popdirt.com wrote 'A day after apologizing to Britney Spears, WorldOfBritney.com webmaster Ruben Garay is hitting out at the pop princess he's dedicated a website to.'

LOL, their editor should read the article again and see who it is I'm really hitting out on after fingers were being pointed in the wrong direction. It's also an opinion, eat it or spit it, make it or break it.
If everybody thinks that just because I'm one of Britney's biggest supporters and love what she stands for to death, that I'm gonna agree with everything that happens out there, you're in for a rude awakening. What happened the other day was just an unfortunate event that just comes with the territory. Everyone has apologized because we respect Britney, sites have been shut down, and some fans have taken quite a beating cause of it. Beautiful. Hopefully this will blow over.....in the meantime, mark your schedule for Monday evening, cause Matt over at TangibleBrit is gonna be on Inside Edition. He's gonna tell his story.

Oooh.

Written by Rajiv Doshi, founder of BritneySpears.org

It's been a crazy 24 hours with pictures of Britney Spears' baby Sean getting released by fan sites on Friday. Britney issued an extremely strong press release stating the pictures were infact stolen and legal action will be taken. We will see what happens over the next few days.

Media coverage of this unfolded Friday night into Saturday. Google News is currently showing that 233 sources have covered the news.

My site BritneySpears.org has seen an almost record amount of visitors on Saturday with 125,000 visitors which much more then our normal 20-25,000 range.

I think everyone is to 'blame' from webmasters, fans, media and celebrities. The entire cycle feeds off each other. First off I want to make it clear that fan site webmasters are not the media, we are just fans. And we the fans are to blame just as much as the media. We are the ones who cause this 'demand' for celebrity news/pictures. I am not saying there is anything wrong with that, but don't just don't think we can blame one part of this huge cycle.

Even celebrities are to blame, they use the media to promote themselves. When they are releasing an album, or starring in a movie...the media is what helps drive fans/people to them. They use the media to drive box office sales, album sales, concert ticket sales. Celebrities depend on the media for that help.

Ofcourse the media crosses the line at times, but that's because of all this demand that gets built up. We are a society that is celebrity crazed but it's just so much fun.

The Scandal: Were The Baby Pics Really Stolen?

Simplified:
The people who originally did the photoshoot and were responsible for safe keeping the distribution of the digitally transfered pictures didn't do a good enough job protecting them. They were obviously leaked somehow and it wasn't us nor TangibleBrit who did it.

It's not like someone walked into Britney's house and stole a camera with film on it. It was unfair for Jive to point the fingers in the wrong direction when the mistake layed INTERNALLY.

I mean, Jive could have E-mailed us or Tangiblebrit and told us to remove the pics, we would have been able to do the job and spread the word, believe me, we're big enough, no need for a huge publicity stunt with that press release.

With that being said, my point is, if Jive wanted to warn the world, they could have done it more subtly. That press release just made people want to go look for the baby pic even more, further going against it's goal to NOT invade anymore of Britney's privacy. Everything exploded after that press release, and all because of a really, really, again, really small picture.

Every single Britney site that featured the pics has apologized, including WoB. The fact of the matter is, when the pictures came out, none of us gave it too much thought as to how much it would affect Britney, simply because we believed that the pictures would come out on People Weekly the day or the week after.....it wasn't until the next day that everyone found out Britney had pulled the plug on the magazine, and that's when things got serious.

Everything else, well, that's getting into the purpose of what fansites are here for, but that's a topic to discuss on a rainy day.

FYI, I've seen the pictures and they're just a collage of six 100x75 pictures. Nothing to get all worked up about. But the best part, everyone has an opinion!

Celebrity Baby Blog:
I find that Britney can be somewhat of a drama queen when it suits her. Maybe it's because she is young and shows a lack of maturity.

britney_fans:
um yeah a bunch of blurry tagged things and a blue blanket HOW CUTE!
She's either going to sell the pics, or she's going to have to put pantyhose over his head like Jack-O does to his kids.

Of course ohnotheydidnt never disappoints:
Did YOU steal Britney's baby photos?!
- It was Madonna! Kaballs!
- oh noz britney cant make money off her child now!!! :(
- i should post them on my website so i get to meet her in court. hah jk

ICONED!

Britney Backs Off Baby Pics Sale
- Post-pardon much?
- Maybe boomstick can sell her (his?) Cheeto™ Baby Spears icon to magazines instead! When I first read that, I thought it said "selling her baby." Sort of like her parents whored her out. YAY! I mean...oops.
- Those Cheetos are getting to her brain.
- she is a complete mess, i don't know why she wanted a family. a child doesn't necessarily stable a person. i feel sorry for her in a way, she just seems so lost. i don't think that being with mr. white trash helps much.
- good but we already kinda saw him : / cock tease<3 lol j/k
- she's so stupid. Now she will have even MORE paparazzi on her back wanting the exclusive first pics of Sean and eventually they'll get it and sell it for millions. This way, she would have less paparazzi on her back, plus she said she would donate the money from selling the pictures to charity, and this way the money will go to some fat paparazzo guy. :(
- Good god, just show us the fucking kid already. You're famous, Britney. If you didn't want people wanting to see your kid, you should've kept your vagina away from K-Fug. What are you gonna do? Walk out of your house all the time with a piece of cloth on his head like Michael Jackson does with his kids? SAD.

BONUS!

At times like these it's really hard to be a closet Britney Spears fan.

Not as hard as when Mona Lisa first leaked, but ... yeah.

For the record, I don't think that Britney's ever in charge of legal procedures. I don't think that Britney's ever been in charge of anything pertaining to her image - except for the firing of her manager/publicist shortly before her quick marriages to Jason Alexander and K.Fed.

Britney pulls back the photos, that's rather expected; seems like TangibleBrit's worries go along the line of lawsuits that may ensue. That's actually a pretty common threat for Britney webmasters. I don't know Matt, but I've been following WorldofBritney.com for quite a while, and from the sound of it fans get the really short end of the stick whenever legal complications occur.
