The Wank Apprentice
This is short, but sweet. A 'quicky' so to speak.

I'm extremely irritated with myself for getting so into this show as it slipped further and further into being a friggen joke. I'm not watching it again... peace all.

Response: "Oh get over it".

And away we go!

So if you dont like a show... Change the channel or turn it off.. Welcome To America..

In less priveleged countries, people don't have this option.

Heh. I remember watching TV in Greece when I was a little girl. No stations until three PM, off the air at around midnight and they only had like three stations. Fun times...

Times have changed, but they still don't have the same amount of channels the US does.

Oh Em Gee! It used to be like that?
TV in Greece is still pure crap. I only turn it on to watch Friends and Monk.

Ah yes, the good old times...

We had the same thing in Finland, except only two channels.

I'm sure she was play-mocking on the "freedom" theme in America, but that would be giving her too much credit.

Well, in places like North Korea, radios and TVs are adjusted to receive only state broadcasting. And I think I've heard that, at least in some places in North Korea, a radio tuned to government broadcasts always has to be playing in people's homes or from a speaker in the village center (but I could be getting the real world confused with Orwell).

But, yeah, that doesn't change the fact that it was definitely a goofy-sounding comment.

No, The Apprentice was serious business. Just like the Internet. Hell, I'm pretty sure you used to be able to opt out of business school just by being on the show, you learnt that much. And if you won, you immediately became The Donald's second-in-command and were totally respected within his corporation--way more than any of those suckers who just went to school and got hired because of their skills and work experience.

But now, pshaw, it's nothing.

Oh dear God. Because I'm mostly fandomy in HP, and everyone knows that HP fandom = pairings and nothing else, my first thought at Apprentice wank was 'who in hell do they ship? Martha/The Donald?'

I'll leave the 'a good thing' jokes to you. My brain is far too traumatized to continue functioning properly.

Sad thing is that I also had the same reaction. I thought it was some sort of shipper wank. =\

Not... really. I think even the fans (including me) are disappointed with it this season. A4 proves that The Donald should stick with the yelling and leave the casting to Mark Burnett.

Last I checked, there were no rules saying you couldn't express a less than sycophantic attitude towards the show.

And last time I checked, the vast majority of posts that wind up on f_w were doing it for attention.
