Got this off a mouse on wank_report

Paty Cockrum, wife of X-Men artist and Nightcrawler creator Dave Cockrum, has been causing a lot of ruckus lately. The whole story with links is here on Rich Johnston's column, "Lying in the Gutters." Fifth item down.

In short, Marvel is anti-Semitic because it made Magneto evil. But no can hold her responsible for anything she says because she has a thyroid problem. The anonymous wants to know if there's a jurisimprudence law for this.

I can't read the article. The summary alone makes my fandom cry.

I only got that far and immediately wanted to strangle this woman. Firstly, for being married to the creator of my favourite and most-beloved X-man of all time ever and spouting this idiocy. Secondly, for claiming a thyroid dysfunction exempts her from accountability for her blustering. And thirdly, for being the wife of a comic book man and being too bloody dense to understand something as simple and intrinsic as irony.
"Thyroid problem"? Please, tell me there's some jurisimprudence law for this. If there isn't, there should be one.

	Dave Cockrum. I'm not sure if "Cockrum" is the coolest surname or the crappiest. Cock + Rum = Nightcrawler /Random Lad And poor Mags, he gets shafted so often. Wasn't Dr. Doom Rom/Romani/Gypsy, too? Please don't tell me she's part of me religion, please. (Though my religion really doesn't need any more crazies, shiksa or Jew, screaming antu-semitism.)

It's one of the most abused concepts out there, and yeah, just so doesn't apply in this case. Magneto is evil, he just is. He's also very screwed up, and I like the Holocaust angle for giving him part of a reason for being so screwed up, and cause it shows survivors as varied human beings, something Hollywood seems to like to forget.
