Holy Crusaders to End Ghost Slash
Stolen from a mouse at [info]wank_report Original report here.

This is regarding the Danny Phantom fandom over at Butch Hartman's forum

The moderators have a Holy Mission: Butch does not like slash or pr0n, therefore, all of these artists must be destroyed. The moderators have been going around, suspending people for "explicit" or slash fanart. This is a fairly tame fandom, one of the pictures in question was a kiss. Also, the moderators do not like anyone linking to a deviantArt account, because the art there could be explicit.

The moderators send emails to said sodomites: (copied from flocked lj comm post, with permission)
We have reviewed your DA content and are questioning your status as an actual fan of Butch Hartman. He has made his opinions of "slash" on his characters clearly known. See this link for the relevant annoucement on his forum: http://butchhartman.com/forumIII/index.php?showtopic=2041

The DPOF have been following along with his decree and have banned numerous individuals associated with slash, in accordance with his wishes. We will not support the defamation of any of Butch's characters in any way, even if that means cutting folks off from our forums.

We are not here to convert or to force people out of doing what makes them happy, we are here to show our support for Butch. This means removing our association with people who draw (or write) material that would, in his own opinion, damage his reputation.

We know most of your work is fine, and what DP slash you do have is very mild, which is why we are sending this PM instead of outright banning you. Regardless, Butch has made it clear his position on this matter.

Can we please get your honest and sincere opinion on where you stand on this issue? We need to make some decisions about whether it is in our and Butch's best interest to maintain your account on the forums.

Sincerely,
The DPOF Administration Team

Others get more stern messages:
Your member account at Danny Phantom Online Forums has been banned indefinitely.

In accordance with Butch Hartman's decree, for having ties with communities that support artwork of Danny Phantom where he is portrayed in a sexually explicit manner, we of the DPOF have come to the decision where we must separate you from our own. When you decide to treat the show in a manner it deserves, we shall welcome you back.

That's right, repent son, and you shall be welcomes back into the light.

This all spills over into other places.

Edited to remove the offending picture! It's dirty so it must be garbage! Eww! And Georgia O'Keefe's flowers offend me as well!

She's not going to take it! She's going to lick Butch Hartman's shoes! The mods come and defend their decisions, waving Butch Hartman's Internet Lawyers all over the place.
Also, OP is indeed a Slasher:

I have nothing against slash in and of itself. Heck, I look at and enjoy original slash. I do, however, have issues with disrespect to the creator and the creator's wishes. That is my point, here. Butch Hartman has made it clear that he does not approve of slash using his characters.

The "True Fans" create a deviantArt group

All DP fanartists and fanart are allowed in the club as long as they meet the requirements listed below:

- Member's gallery does not contain slash, shounen-ai, shoujo-ai, yaoi, yuri, softcore or hardcore pornography or any other mature works
- Submissions do not contain mature content
- Submissions promote the show respectfully

So....that picture I drew of Danny Phantom RAPING DEAD KITTENS WHILE BUTCH HARTMAN WATCHES AND CHILDREN CRY IN THE CORNER isn't really what they had in mind?

Why can't we all be like Star Wars and ignore what the creator says anyway.

ETA: Fans at El-Jay talk about it more here.

ETA2: Don't you love it when the wank comes to us? Psst... mice, your IPs are showing. (Eta3) And it comes again. This wank has that stale mouse-wank taste. Yum.

Well... so this is how so many people found my journal.

I have to say, I'm kind of flattered. I didn't expect this kind of response. You people are hilarious. I like Georiga O'Keefe.

"The moderators have been going around, suspending people for "explicit" or slash fanart. This is a fairly tame fandom, one of the pictures in question was a kiss. Also, the moderators do not like anyone linking to a deviantArt account, because the art there could be explicit."

Yep. You do have that right. The "kiss" picture in question was probably a slash pic, which in the mods opinion is always PG-13 material, and besides that, disrespects Butch who stated his opinion on the announcement you linked. Do you really think he wants people who disrespect him on his forum?

Yes, they do not like people linking do DA, mostly because they can't be sure what will pop up. The BHF strives to be a kid and parent-friendly site - I heard that they once got shut down briefly by a zealous soccer-mom and are trying to avoid similar incidents. On DA, people use wordings in their comments and some advertisments pop up that are inapproiate for the family setting the mods are trying to achieve, as well as the fact that commentators also have the potential for having non-DP mature artwork in their galleries. Everyone is welcome and indeed encouraged to upload their forum-approiate fanart to an image host such as photobucket and share it with the forum.

Feel free to also check out this journal entry: http://amyphantom.deviantart.com/journal/6868503/#journal

As well as this comment, by skyechan, on my journal. http://comments.deviantart.com/5/6858552/186309988
She is a slasher, a former DP slasher, at that, who has made her opinion clear on this issue.

We aren't out to flame anyone. We just want to dissimenate information in a respectful manner and hopefully change a few minds.

You guys are the ones who are doing a great job of making Butch Hartman look bad, by the way. You don't even need the slashers for it when you get sycophantic fans such as yourself taking it upon yourself to have a little crusade.

You guys can make sure slash stays off his site, but you have no say on whether the slash fans decide to leave that site and go elsewhere, and keep producing.

Also, when you leave an irrelevant comment telling the original artist that what she does is disrespectful, rather than talking about the art technically, yes, that is attacking. Dumbass.

"Also, when you leave an irrelevant comment telling the original artist that what she does is disrespectful, rather than talking about the art technically, yes, that is attacking. Dumbass."

*snorts* I did not see her comment that way. It was much less of an attack than many of the comments I've seen here and elsewhere. It was much less of an attack than the person who went to one of the journal entries and posted a porn picture saying "Well, I guess you won't like this picture then, either?". Liaranne has made it clear several times that she did NOT intend to attack anyone, but simply to make sure that the artist had seen Butch's announcement and explain her opinions of that particular type of work.

You are calling Liaranne disrespectful? Okay, then why can't you see that slash artists are continuing to disrespect Butch Hartman and his wishes when he as specifically made this known?

You want to call a fanslasher an "original artist"? If it was that original, she could use her OWN characters. Liaranne said herself that she had no problem with that.

*snorts*

Hypocrite.

You could at least get one of your friends at a different computer to defend you, Liaranne. :D

Oh, and I was saying "original artist" is terms of being connected to "original poster". As in, the artist that all the wank showed up. Dumbass.

Nice try, Liaranne, but you're only succeeding in making yourself look more and more batshit with each word you type.
