UPDATED!!
InuGrrrl and Lady blade hit the review boards and The Critic makes a final stand; which makes one wonder why he said 'Ta Ta For Now' at the end...

From the author that gifted us with Non-consensual =/= Rape, we are mortified to bring you, "Don't confuse me with the facts, my mind is already made up!"

InuGrrl's latest endeavor, The Edge of Seventeen, has drawn some interesting reviews recently.

First, The Critic straightforwardly points out that the fic contains factual errors regarding the Japanese culture.

Naturally, this enrages the masses for reasons yet to be determined. For her part, InuGrrl simply makes a kind author's note in her next chapter proclaiming that she has no interest in facts so no one should bother educating her.

Things quiet down until The Critic makes the scene to defend the critique and snark back at Kagaga no Subaba, and in the process provides some insight into why most fan fiction SUCKS now-a-days.

I have a feeling this might get entertaining, people. We've stumbled upon a Sueric in the making!!

She did it!I can't believe she did it!(I am glad she did, though!)Kagome broke the 11th commandment"Thy shall not lie with 16 year old boys no matter how hot or sexy they look".(I looked that one up bc I was unaware of it also! LOL). Seriously, great story!I just hope that Kagome doesn't find herself in jail for such a reasonable and understandable situation. Hell, I would do it if I were her!!Keep up the great work!

...huh? What?

You know, I'd applaud the critic for having balls if their attempt at 'edumacating the masses' wasn't so damn futile. There's not a chance in hell those idiots applauding that steaming pile would take the time to realize they're acting like idiots.

No one wins here.

This fic... has 171 reviews?!

I feel that the "really cool Japanese words" would have more education value if they were really written in kanji. The day that happens, I'll believe in the value of fangirl Japanese, cause lord knows I need all the help memorizing kanji I can get.

The horrid lack of grammar and cultural mangling make Kouga and Kagome very confused indeed.

what is the deal with people taking ANY fanfic seriously? same thing with movies and tv shows. come on. purely entertainment. take it as that or move on.

Only semi-sensible part of that review.
However, silly little fangirls: If you want to write fanfic about Japanese characters, in Japan, no matter how silly or stupid your premise, you could try a little effort. Research your facts. This is the Intarwebz, where the very world is at a few keystrokes and/or the click of a mouse. I'm incredibly lazy, and even I try harder than that.

The kuso can really hit the fan sometimes.

I might applaud hir for using the word properly in noun context, but the random usage makes my lobes cringe.

Thy shall not lie with 16 year old boys no matter how hot or sexy they look

And verily, thou shalt not use improperly the tongue of Ye Olde Worlde.

I weep at the murder of two languages. Then I shake my head and curse these type of people for giving us sane writers a bad name, especially those of us who do write in the Alternate Universe aspect.

I know my grammar and spelling is subpar without a checker, but it burns to look at the failed attempts of first grade writing there. I wish to kill the creator of netspeak, very much so.

Some people just has to decide what language they want to write in. Just because they have 'grown fond of them' doesn't mean it is right.

Hmm... just because something isn't real, you don't have to worry about details, research...

im sorry, tuely i am but i can't take reading this story. i have just been crying my eyes out and i now feel like crying more. im just a true Inuyasha and Kagome luver and any relation ship with someone else tears me up and spits me back out only to get chewed. im really fucking sorry but i don't want to know how this ends cause i have this anger boiling up inside of me and i want to slap sango, kikyo, rin. ALL OF THEM i HATE!

You can make IY fanbrats cry with rage just by pairing Inuyasha or Kagome with someone else. Innnnteresting.

*takes copious notes*

*ponders whether the truest love is between Kagome and Miroku, or Kagome and aged-up-via-some-implausible-plot-device Shippou*

What's the general fanbrat opinion of Kikyou? Wronged woman? Romantic heroine? Dark queen of the spirit world who's so Goth, she's dead? Hoebag? It's very important. Literature is at stake.

God, those reviews make my eyes bleed.

I'm not the kind of person who thinks an author needs to heed all reviews (I called Ryoma's eyes green once and some reviewer on ff.n tried to tell me they are GOLD. If she had said brown, I could see how she would have a leg to stand on, but gold?), but this reviewer has a really good point. So, even though InuGrrl can spout off random Japanese words, she doesn't know much about Japanese high schools. No big deal, most of us don't, but that's why people should stick to WRITING WHAT THEY KNOW. This fic may have been a lot more successful set in the US. Maybe Texas. Starring whats-his-name from Dawson's Creek....

Dear Inu-fic writers,
Since I spend too much time perusing your efforts when I should be grading my students papers and writing my own, please observe the following rules:

1.We don't need the vocab anymore, I think most of the fandom gets the point. Say 'nani' one more time and I hit you with Toukijin. Or whatever is left of it, you know what I mean.

2.Why does Kagome end up knocked up in every Sess/Kag fic? Consequenses are for pussies, heh. Stop giving her a moon on her forehead too, it bugs me.

3. Write more Inu/Sango. More Sango/anyone, really.

Thank you and have a nice day.
